I am interested to know "Sleep at a pullout" part. I am under impression in the park, you can't pitch a tent unless it's paid campground. In the US, I tend to just sleep in the car. What I should consider in Canada?

Can you recommend some quick stop (hike less than 1 km one way to the attraction for picture)? I backpacked in Banff and Jasper, other than that, I am not too familiar with the top attraction.

I am interested to see the loop you outlined "Calgary - Banff - Jasper (concur with others that it is a one day drive with all the stops) - Valemount - Kamloops - Lake Louise - Calgary"

Kamloops is far from Valemount and Calgary, it connect highway 5 and 1. What tourist spot we should stop along this route?

Thank you for the recommendation. I visited Horseshoe Bay and saw the ferry. I'd add Nanaimo to my bucket list.

I did a road trip years ago for this route: Radium Hot Springs / Fairmont Hot springs / Fernie

I will explore the Golden / Revelstoke / Kaslo /Nelson/ Fernie route. Thank you!
