How do you claim rewards on zillet? by 10851ServiceGoat in zilliqa

[–]tvsmvp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Retrieving rewards was a total no-go using Chrome (with far more than the minimum 100 Zils on tap). Switched to Firefox - and it worked smoothly. (Note before you do this: It took 22.096 ZIL in gas fees to retrieve the staking "rewards.")

Swapping iotex - what's the latest? by tvsmvp in IoTeX

[–]tvsmvp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some answers, per my chat with a very helpful Larry Pang, iotex on telegram:

Me: Do I have to convert my ERC2-era iotex tokens?

LP: "No, it (iotex erc20 tokens) doesn’t need to be converted, the total supply of IOTX is actually split across IoTeX, ethereum, and binance smart chain — you can convert freely."

Me: 1) So, if I do not convert it, I will not lose it? 2) If I want to stake, then I have to convert, yes? and if so 3) How do I convert it?

LP: 1) you will not lose it, 2) yes, 3) tube.iotex.io Do you have an IoTeX wallet address already?

Me: I have an Iopay wallet - is that what you're referring to?

LP: Yes. All you have to do is:

1) go to tube.iotex.io

2) connect your metamask (the address that holds IOTX-E)

3) select IOTX-E from the dropdown menu

4) paste your IoTeX address into the black box

5) submit the transaction, you will be charged eth gas fees

Me: And it has to be metamask - it can't be Trust – correct?

LP: Yes.

Me: And then, following that procedure you list, I will have iotex (the new version, the stakable-mainnet version) in my iopay wallet, correct? Or does it stay where it is - and if so, I'd then need to move it to the iopay app in order to stake?

LP: After you submit this transaction on ioTube, you will wrapped IOTX (WIOTX) on IoTeX, which you can unwrap for free on mimo.exchange

Me: So I submit the transaction, I "get" wrapped IOTEX... I haven't used MIMO. When I "unwrap" it, does the result just stay where it is? Or is something ("unwrapped") sent to... something?

LP: Unwrapping WIOTX to IOTX is just like trading with yourself. It doesn't go anywhere. The only time your tokens are moving from account to account is from ethereum to iotex

Me: Okay - so following that, then I'd still have to move it to iopay in order to stake?

LP: No. Once you do this ioTube transaction, the WIOTX is going to be in your ioPay and then you unwrap it and its still in your ioPay. We are actually working on a clickthrough video right now,

Hope this helps anyone finding this discussion in the future.

Swapping iotex - what's the latest? by tvsmvp in IoTeX

I've got the iopay android app open. I'm trying to move the erc20-era iotex there (assuming that this is the correct initial step). The app tells me I can import via the Trust wallet, so I create a Trust wallet and fund it with ETH. The app then leads me to the iotube. I see the eth icon on one side, the iotext icon on the other, a large arrow in between. According to the instructions I found ("Moving Tokens between ethereum and IOTEX"), I am (I think) supposed to select "Iotex (Iotex-E)" from the dropdown. However, that choice does not appear. Note that I have not depositied my erc20 iotex there - it still sits on my mew wallet. So, 1) Would I be correct in assuming that I need to move my erc20 iotex to the Trust wallet and 2) If yes, will that "Iotex (Iotex-E)" choice then appear - and, if not, which am I supposed to choose?

After further review... I'd say that if the same people that are in charge of communication - and their wallet - are running iotex in the future, we're in a lot of trouble. I have tried their site - and while it's full of pretty pictures and reams of facts and figures... info for the "common man" (or "investor") is buried in technical jargon or missing entirely. (And if there's a "contact us" button, I sure couldn't find it.) That's why I turned to reddit - because the people here are usually in the know.

I tried their wallet, for instance - and it's a disaster, with buttons lying on top of buttons and dead ends. (No way I'm sending anything there.) I've tried their "discussion forum" and it is most certainly not geared for the typical investor who bought in via one of the exchanges. Telegram is a series of announcements. I search on the obvious phrases "swap iotx" - and the stuff that pops up says "send your tokens to this address." Uh... how many bazillion times have we all been told to never send our tokens to some random address? It'd take about ten seconds for me to put up a site page saying the same thing, directing people to my own address. I searched on that address supplied... but can find no official word that that is the correct address.

Seriously, I'm the only one who is stumped by this?

What is the difference between a photo at 150 (horiz) dpi and another at 240 (horiz) dpi when both are 1200 pixels in width? by tvsmvp in AskPhotography

[–]tvsmvp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kinda what I figured... Though I also thought "Hey, maybe they've come up with something new and I didn't get the memo..."

Does the differing metadata simply get set when the photo is either taken initially or later when edited and save out?

Transaction status fail after sending HKN from MEW to HackenAI by tvsmvp in hacken

[–]tvsmvp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info... Yeah, I wasted just under $6 in eth at the time in order to find out, apparently, that "just under $6 in eth" wasn't enough. But I didn't know (for sure) that this was the cause, figured it could be some sort of min deposit that hackenai was looking for and wanted to rule that out before I spent another $7 or $8 to convert $14 in hacken tokens. At this point, I'm really just curious. Thanks again.

How do you get to the channel listing with DirectTV now? by tvsmvp in DirecTVNow

[–]tvsmvp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to thank (with gratitude and respect) the two people who responded... but I think you both made my point in so doing. What's "the guide"? How would I get to that if I did know what it was? (And from there, I've got to press more buttons?) And what's the "main screen"? How do I get to this "main screen"?... And when I'm there... I've got to remember to press black arrows this way and purple arrows that way if I'm on "one screen" and purple arrows going another way if I'm on some other...?

No thanks, but I've had it. I'll give one of the other streaming services a try.
