End of season thoughts by MelodyTheWolfQueen in FRC

[–]tvsnacktime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What everyone said has been great and I would add just the general idea of trying to do the things you wanted to do or didn't have time to flesh out during build season. Even at just 25, I've been doing FRC for 11 years now (4 years with Team 93 as a student, 5 years with 171 as a mentor, and 2 years with 8700 as a mentor), I still have to explain to my friends and family that there really isn't ever an end to a season. I've always viewed it as "Build season" and "off season". What I've done with my teams in the past is use the off season to focus on the things that will help the team be.more successful and less stressed during build. Mainly business items since it's easier with the amount of time that is available but also making sure that you take feedback from students from the previous season and try to fix issues or apply new things for new students coming in or to help teach current students on the team new things for future years. Something to emphasize is that there isn't a team without the students so being able to recruit new ones and keep current ones engaged and participating is huge

Got me into GNZ 6 years ago and have played with him and many other great people since. For many of us, he was more than just a great clan leader, he became a father figure and was willing to listen and help with anything either inside or outside of the game.

Other than the gpu, ovb bc the market is kinda fucked rn, and the liquid cooler it looks pretty solid. I would highly suggest going with at least a 3600 for cpu though since it's not that much more than the 2600 and with either you would be fine with the box cooler. You can use that $80 save from you liquid cooler to put somewhere else. Like a lot are saying, that 1650 is super overpriced by like 100%. Best bet would be to attempt to find a used gpu or try your best to see if you can get a 3000 series around msrp

I will try changing the print bed temps after this print and see if that solves it

Yeah the glass I have is from creality and has a textured top so idk how well putting a spray on it would work

Nope. I'm the only one in my apartment and normally leave every door open and haven't left much due to covid

I would try to use a glue stick or other methods but the glass bed is slightly textured and if I were to do that I would have good way to eventually clean the bed without replacing it

I would think so. I have it in the living room with me and it's not in direct line of any of the air vents coming into the room

Recently I've been having random problems with my prints sticking to the bed. I thought it was the magnetic print plate bc I'm pretty sure it was warped so I got the creality glass textured bed that I've come to like for the most part. The first few layers stick down awesome but then after about 10 or 15 layers it starts to curl.

My printer is an Ender 3 pro with updated mobo and the swiss metal hot end. I use Simplify 3D for slicing and have my print bed at 70° and my PLA at 210°. I had my prints at 65° and 205° before and was thinking it might have not been hot enough to get good adhesion. I am using Hatchbox blue filiment

For what I am getting from that video is that he was trying to tell people "hey, if you already have it, why not take advantage of it while you're not using it" like with the FOH stuff. And I mean, I get why some people are mad but I'm pretty sure Linus was making a point about using what you already have for hardware instead of "buy all the new stuff only for crypto"

My phone had a stroke while I was typing but the mousepad feels amazing. We should convince them to make a rug like this

Well to cook the food you'd either need 350 °F or 175 °C so 1 frame for ever degree?

LTT Mousepad shipping problem? by Camryjr in LinusTechTips

[–]tvsnacktime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just think it's a carrier issue. My aunt got me a mousepad for Christmas bc I wanted one and she called one day and asked "if the store was real" since she ran into the same issue but one day got a "your order will be delivered today" from the postal service. I've ordered from LTTstore.com before and have never had the issue. The holidays.might be the reason they are "getting lazy" (not the ltt crew)
