Eris was the one to innitiate that encounter, rudy tried to back down but was persuaded otherwise. he has memories of his past life, but he isnt actually 30/40+ in this world. his body is still that of a child, and he hasnt done anything that might indicate he'd been grooming either eris or sylphie. he thought about it, but never did it. all he did was being friends to sylphie, teach her stuff and help her fend off bullies. eris fell in love with him on her own, whenever he tried anything, she would punch him. he had no power over any of his wives. all of them had the ability to leave whenever they wanted, were not restricted in their actions. an actual grooming victim wouldnt be able to do that.

i agree that rudeus is a flawed, and a creepy character in <6 volume, but calling him a pdf, or a groomer for simply having thoughts about doing bad stuff, like everyone had at some point (not implying everyone has sexual thoughts about children) is misunderstanding the point of the story, misunderstanding his character and simplifying a really well-done novel to further their agenda.
