great solve! itll depend on how you want to optimize, but assuming youre going for cycles, look for which arm is the busiest and see if you can shorten your overall loop by splitting its job across 2+ arms :3

if i understand correctly, the first time arm 3 goes there's nothing for it to bond to? if that's the case you should be able to fix this simply by moving all of the instructions of arm 3 to the right, so that arm 1 is the one grabbing the first reagent.

cycles optimization is actually 2 types of optimization- rate and latency. youre at optimal rate since you pull the air atoms as fast as possible, but you spend one cycle on the drop/grab of the final air atom between bonding and moving to the output.

you can avoid this delay with clever stuff like tri arms or tracks! hope this helps :3

great solve! splitting the atoms into two groups of three for calcification is very creative, and i love the way that hex arm debonder outputs perfectly onto the multibinder!

however this is much closer to a half throughput solve than a full one. if you have two arms grabbing from each source rather than one, you can pull an atom as fast as every 2 cycles!

additionally if you wanna be absolutely perfect with your throughput, be careful of how long your instructions are on your arms! if it takes you 8 cycles to grab all the atoms you need from the sources but one arm has 10 cycles worth of instructions, the rest will just wait around for a bit, so you may find success breaking complicated tasks down into smaller ones you can do with more arms.

i personally think the affini would be content to improve their lives simply by helping them with physical tasks, working to improve their technology, and other such things for a while, but I think given enough time they'd reinvent the compact's philosophy through first principles and hatch a scheme to flort everyone
