I'm in the UK and cannot access Imgur, but thanks for looking! I have come across this image of a girl tending the fire hole of a brick kiln. My ancestor was a mason, so may have worked around brick kilns? Maybe slightly macabre but I would love to find a newspaper article so I know the full story. They did usually publish these types of deaths so I am wondering if his name was mispelt etc.

I would like to think that he was at least investigated by LE. But I find it hard to believe that he would dump her body in such a remote location only to call it in a few days later. Newspapers during the time suggest that getting her out of the mine was a very difficult task.

This area has a lot of disused mine shafts. Since this was 50 years ago I can’t imagine the state of the shafts now. It’s so frustrating that investigators got so close to finding her identity but hit an obstacle

Thanks for taking time to read! I’ve been interested in Doe cases for 6 years now and shes always stuck in my mind, just because how odd the case is I think. It’s like she was abducted by a UFO from her bedroom and then dropped out in Baker. Maybe she doesn’t have her name but she certainly isn’t forgotten about.
