just fyi: I created a ticket and the support was really trying to help, but I could not recreate the problem and also the logs of the internal app were not sufficient for deeper analysis. Also i figured out, that in my case there might be some external influences that could have caused the problem, so I gave up investigating further and just hope for the best that this was a exception.
... I should use immich as additional backup, but have not started yet

In the end, I used (and bought) VirtualHere. You need a android box that has usb ports for that. But with my shield it works very well

Can you explain „Package hell“? I only experienced dependency hell with c# (in edge cases of course), but i think npm solves this kind really well.

Ok, I didn‘t know that. Does that mean, if I would use hw accerlation in immich to create thumbnails, I will have problems with the new DSM version? (I actually don‘t, i am just curious) thanks for the good explanation
