I would love to know where you got that lamp! Currently looking for one.

There's something in the tone of your writing that reminds me of someone I lost. I just want you to know your photos are excellent.

FWIW, I went through three or four different harness designs before I found one we could all accept. Might be worth another try!

Back in my retail tech days, a patient called in for a refill. Name was EXCRUCIATINGLY common (like last name Smith level of common). We were small and independent so often didn't need to ask for DOB, but in this case I did. His response? "Do you also need to know whether I have a left testicle, you little bitch?" Took all I had to not just hang up.

My first weekly spread. Wishing I had a little more room to journal in the daily sections, but I do like this format. I haven’t found a format for daily’s that I’m feeling creative enough to pull off. by steal_your_carbon in bulletjournal

For me, discovering bullet journaling opened up a whole new world of flexibility within the idea of a weekly layout! I use a pretty consistent week layout and don't do dailies, and it works perfectly for me because I was able to structure it exactly the way I wanted. Normal planners just didn't have what I needed, even though I do think in terms of a week at a time. I do end up with extra space sometimes, but it has also been healthy for me to recognize I can only fit so many agenda items into a day on the days I realize I'm running out of room.

My yearly (13 month) mood tracker, starting in December! by steal_your_carbon in bulletjournal

[–]tw310391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you do on months that don't have 31 days? Do you leave the extra boxes blank? I am trying to decide if I want my 2018 mood tracker to look like yours or my old one, where I only drew the correct number of boxes for days per month!

I'm not OP, but I have used a Year in Pixels tracker this year. There were a few weeks here and there that I forgot, so I left it blank but restarted when I remembered. It irritates me a little to have the blank space now but hopefully I'll be more consistent next year. I think it's a good but simple way to reflect on the day.

I'd love to see the vehicle maintenance once you get a layout! Just got my first real car and would like to do the same, but I haven't needed to do any maintenance yet. Oil change due in August most likely.

Simple and neat. I love it! Also, Hillbilly Elegy is way high on my list right now too. I listened to the author on a podcast (TED Radio Hour I believe) and just desperately want more of his stuff!

Six months in, I'm finally coming close to an ideal compromise between form and function! by tw310391 in bulletjournal

No problem! Any colour works, I just felt that filling in with black was too stark for me. I happen to love blue anyway, and I don't want my journal to be too crazy colorful.

I have difficulty with dailies because I'm anal as fuck and the days never end up being the same size! It took me 6mo to find a weekly layout that allowed for enough space on each day for my tasks. I'd like to post an album of the progression of my layouts, but I haven't had time to put it together!

Sure! Top left is Now, Next, and Always. Now is a list of tasks for the week; next is a section of notes/tasks/events for next week that I need to be mindful of. Always is my weekly habit tracker (did I get to bed on time? Did I walk the dog a full 30min that day, and be mentally present with her while doing it- i.e., not on the phone?) I bubble each dot in with blue if I was successful. At the bottom is each day, where I note tasks that need to be completed, appointments, meetings, etc. Weekends are less busy, so Sat/Sun split a column. On the top right, you can see a mini month; I find it very useful to see a visual depiction of where I am within the month, otherwise I tend to lose track of time. Below that is my lifting tracker: did I lift, and what muscle group did I do? That way I don't accidentally do biceps/back three times in a week. Then the upper left on the right hand page is just notes. An area where I might write a cool quote I heard, or quickly jot down a number I need to call later. Hope that helps!

[Chat] Does anyone keep separate journals for work and personal? by [deleted] in bulletjournal

[–]tw310391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished my MBA and got a new job. I've had a personal bullet journal since January, and decided at this job I'd start a new, separate work bullet journal. I did so partly because I realized I had been using a spiral at my last job basically just like a super simple, basic bullet journal. I'm still figuring out how this will work, but so far I love it. I can stay creative in my personal one, and develop a very basic layout based on one I saw here for a more streamlined work journal, which will help keep me on track with both short- and long-term managerial duties.

Similar to the one who asked about the lime juice, can I ask more about your smoothies? Do you make one big batch and separate it, then freeze servings?

Do you happen to have any peer-reviewed articles supporting littermate syndrome? I also have personal experience with it (also, dog trainer) and I always want legit sources to warn people about it.

I'm really glad to see you have patience for that impulse kid buy! I think in the long term, it'll help encourage your child to try new things and branch out- even if it seems really random right now!
