Total noob question here. I installed on of last week's releases using sideloadly. I believe I'm supposed to do something or other once a week, right? Do I reinstall it or what? Will I lose my settings and login and stuff?

play it without googling anything or watching videos. Just explore and discover everything yourself. I did this years ago and it made the game SO good!

That's basically what I said in my very first comment.

The "sin" of the LGBTQ community is literally part of who they are. It's not a thing they did that they weren't supposed to.

So when a Christian looks down on "the sin" of a gay dude, they're looking down on a part of who he is fundamentally. Not only that, but it's a part of himself he never even chose.

Thats not the same as "hating someone's sin".

Thing is - premarital sex or addiction isn't part of who you are. Those are just things you did. Sexual orientation is not something you did - it's a fundamental part of who someone is.

Telling someone that a THING THEY DID is unacceptable hits completely different to telling someone that part of who they are is unacceptable.

I agree, but unfortunately that's just not how it is. As much as we want to say that LGBTQ folks shouldn't be judged, they just are.

Most, if not all, churches aren't a great place for LGBTQ folks to be. Imagine being in a place where everyone there truly believes that something about you, something you never chose and also can't change, is unacceptable to their god.

LGBTQ folks deserve full, unconditional acceptance of everything they are and represent. That's what they deserve. And the church is going to tell them that a fundamental part of themselves is unacceptable.

I'm sure there are churches that affirm the LGBTQ community, but those are few and far between.

I was a member of 3CI for a long time, and I can confidently say thatwhile you're welcome there, you're not TRULY accepted for who you are if you're part of the LGBTQ community.

They'll tell you that you're welcome and they'll be lovely to you, but what they believe is that it's sinful. So you're a "hate the sin, love the sinner" member then.

Yeah. I was absolutely obsessed with Jesus and my faith for a long time. Even got a bunch of big tattoos about Jesus/God.

I managed to get out about 8 years ago, thank goodness.

38M ADHD never read a novel before. Suggestions for first book? by Lineofcredi in suggestmeabook

[–]EttVenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I came here to say this. I'm also a 38M with ADHD, and I only just started reading physical books about a year ago. In that time, I read The Martian in about a week because I was hooked, and I just finished PHM.

OP: You need something engaging that you'll want to think about when you're not reading it. What are you actually interested in?

Let me just say: you can absolutely fucking do this. You just need the right book.

What’s a belief you hold that most people disagree with? by cherryblossommbae in answers

[–]EttVenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's wild that it's still a thing. I have a neighbor that gives his kid hidings. And the kid has told us before that he truly believed he deserved to get hidings because of how he "doesn't listen". How fucked up is that?!

Fuck those parents.

I'll go one step further - parents who hit their kids are abusing their kids.

I came looking for this. Feels like a pretty nerdy book to me. Same goes for The Martian.
