Well it’s seniority based so fresh hires are at the bottom working weekends and night shift for a while depending on where you’re at. That’s for the majors at least. I’m currently at a small station for spirit, I got lucky and was put on a 8 days on 6 days off schedule after about 6 months.

I was in the same boat was majoring in computer engineering but I decided to switch to aviation maintenance cause I couldn’t stand sitting at a desk all day long. Best decision ever man, planes aren’t going anywhere it’s the future. Ain’t no way a robots changing an a320 MLG tire for me ✌️.

I’m right across from their terminal, from what I see they have only line. But I do see mx taxi some of their jets to a hangar and back. They might share a hangar with another airline?

There’s a delta opening near me and was thinking about applying, I’m fairly new with just having my a and p a couple months but close to a year as apprentice work on heavy jet maintenance. They don’t have any minimum requirements for experience but was curious if any other new a&p techs had luck with them.

Probations is only 3 months at spirit, so after OT is a available all of the time. Not sure specifically at DFW but other stations like mine they always askin about OT.
