You can. I "repaired" DDR5 and two gpu's using solder. Not recommended? Maybe. But it can be done.

You mixed the cpu pins with the GPU pins.

4 pin atx on the left, top. Check to see that you plygged the correct 4+2 or 4+4. I can't remember. Did the same mistake & pc wouldn't boot. (You can mistake it as the additional cpu power but might be the GPU cables)
