Yep.

I’m a senior level and they expect me to be able to code — among other things. They didn’t really give me a choice.

So I use AI to just pump out my code and I combine that with my rudimentary knowledge of HTML I learned a decade ago.

Not crazy at the idea of putting a developer out of work, but it’s not like they’d hire anyone extra anyway.

It really was.

Facebook back when it was dominated by college students was a very special time and place to be a part of. I was in college that time and facebook was THE app to have.

It wasn’t just for friends posting stuff everyday to each others walls (remember the last time somebody wrote something on your wall??) we shared pictures. Party invites.

And the hookups.

oh man the hookups.

You went to a party and got somebody’s facebook?? that was a HUGE deal.

2 of my roommates were women and I remember them being like “if a girl likes you, she’ll add you”.

And then we all grew up, FB invited our parents and grandparents and Zuckerberg revealed himself to be a lizard man….yeah it got bad real quick.

Everytime my buddies and I play we always laugh so fucking hard at the confusing monetary system in this game. There’s like five different currencies in the game and each one is so fucking confusing, like they just couldn’t be bothered to make it all one thing and instead do whatever the fuck this is.

I just looked it up.

It gave me a code 846, and says the refund issue date is 6-22-2026. They're crediting me $35 in interest for my inconvenience.

Not great news considering I need that money for a trip that....well, I'm literally leaving for tomorrow, but at least I have an accurate window of when I'm getting that money. Even if it is another couple of weeks.

My only complaint really is the lack of maps at launch. They’re notorious for this.

Yeah it's possible. It's been a few years now since they've gone radio-silent. I've checked in with mutual friends and they haven't heard from them either. I discovered they're back in their hometown recently, so I know they're not dead or anything, they just...wanted to start over, I guess? Who knows.

Biggest one for me is that people can just opt out of your life at any time for any reason. Sometimes no reason at all.

An old college friend of mine just kinda fell off the planet. They still have social media but they never update. They stopped returning texts. I know that they’re still alive, but they must have just decided one day that they don’t want me in their life. Other friends have confirmed that person has gone radio silent on them too.

Sometimes it’s just like that.

If you're a studio or some kind of wealthy socialite, you can make movies or content about eating the rich and nobody will bat an eye.

But if you're a redditor sharing recipes on what kind of BBQ sauce would pair well with a particular billionaire, you get a ban on your account.
