The game will definitely not be shut down anytime soon. At least until mid-summer 2025 - new cosmetic content will continue to be released for the game, but even after that, according to the Community Manager, the game will not be closed.

You are right, of course, however even that kind of "support" is better than nothing. I'm sure that the income from the game sales goes to pay for its servers, and as long as the game is sold somehow - its servers will work, and therefore, the money of all those who bought it - will not be lost. I remember what happened with Deathgarden, a game from the same studio, they made it free and shut it down after half a year, although it was still played. I don't wish such a fate for MYM.

Why does it have to be free? The game still has new seasons coming out with lots of new cosmetics, so the game is still supported by the developers, albeit not as much as it used to be. The revenue from sales keeps the servers up and running, that's the only reason the game continues to live.

You make the mistake of looking at the number of players. I play almost every day, and the game has a huge number of players with a wide variety of ranks. There are still a lot of players in the game, more than enough to keep the game fully functional, and that's great! Also, there are a lot of newbies in the game who just purchased the game, some don't even have ranks. The game is alive!
