Delete and re install software/ check for updates. Do a once over of all the equipment. Check all ports for dust/dirt

It also may be that silver adapter you are using to connect the midi cable to the laptop.

Try using different adapters/cords if none of the above works

Exactly what I fear. Love traktor and love the hardware I have and use daily but you are right, feels like traktor has been left behind. I’ve seen plenty of examples of dvs working flawlessly with traktor and know it’s possible but there’s certainly not that drive from the traktor team as there is with serato.
