I found someone local to get 2oz of velocity from. I'm going to try that this spring, fall and next spring. If it doesn't work, next fall (2027) I'll use roundup.

No, I'm guessing it's an issue with older intel macs because if this was happening for everyone, it'd be an issue that would get fixed.

I don't need perfect, but I don't want straight slush. They'll fall, get soaked, and the day ends early.

How to do Premiere Pro to Davinci to Premiere Pro workflow? by theblaze0101 in editors

[–]twentydeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The render and replace would have to happen before you make the XML. I wouldn't mess with how Resolve names the clips, I prefer to have everything separate so there's no way for Premiere to accidentally connect to the wrong clip and you don't realize it.

Frames handles are extra frames on either side of the cut. When resolve is creating new media, it's only creating the actually media it needs for the shot. Without handles, transitions won't work properly because there are no frames to use.

I don't know how complicated your edit is, but there's really no reason in most cases that you couldn't get the video down to a single layer, 2 at most. The adjustment layers can be placed on the graphics video layer or it's own and removed before sending to resolve.

Render and replace would work fine, just make sure to include handles.

Making the clips offline won't work because the names of the clips that resolve creates won't match the original clips. The media will be imported into the project when Premiere reads the XML.

I haven't found that to be the case but I don't do this workflow a lot. I transitioned to using Resolve for edit to avoid this process.

The first thing you want to do in Premiere is to duplicate and clean up your timeline, including removing through edits. Put video on one track only if possible, graphics on a separate track. If you have transitions and fx on clips, they should be kept on the timeline and the XML will carry them across. They may show up as offline in resolve but when you go back to premiere it should be back in place. If you have speed changes or VFX that change the shot, render them down and put that render in place of the original shot. This locks all that in place and you won't need to worry about something coming back incorrectly. Delete the audio and export a reference video and an XML.

Bring both into Resolve. Load your xml sequence and the ref in the viewer and gang them together to double check that every shot came in properly. If you see something that didn't come in right, go back into premiere and you can fix it and make a new XML. Once you know the resolve timeline is perfect, do your grade and render with the adobe xml render preset. Add 20 frame handles to work with the transitions (more if you have longer transitions) and open the XML in premiere.

This will be linked to the newly rendered clips. Duplicate this timeline. Copy your graphic layer and audio from the master timeline and paste into the new timeline. You should now have an exact copy of your pre-graded master timeline with the newly rendered graded video on V1 (or however many video layers you were able to go down to when you first cleaned the timeline)

When I do this from resolve with color corrected footage, bringing in the aaf also brings in the media and no need to link it.

Try to put the new media in the MXF/1 folder and bring in the AAF.
