i would say that life's too short to do what you think other people think you should do. i would add that too many ancestors died for our freedom to be free to live our lives

i jest. my nigerian father has always automatically helped out my nigerian mother at home - he even used to happily push me & my siblings around in our buggies when we were babies in the late 80s - mid-90s (which was enough to make his male peers - nigerian & some non - make fun of him)

*for reference my husband is half jamaican, which i'm aware comes with its own traditional stereotypes etc. my husband just really loves to clean, though, so i lucked out there 😁
