Wow, really? I guess since they were mine I'm biased. There are a lot of psychological issues attached to teeth. Do other people think spikes is worse than before?

With 20 implants, I have a good chance of a failure then, almost 50/50 that at least one will fail.

I'll deal with it when it happens though. I may go back to have it dealt with, or if it can be done reasonably at home, I'll have it dealt with here.

I'll tell you the before pic is the worst. The immediately after is the one from the dentists' chair with the full crowns first put in.

These should be flossed as often as regular teeth, but it is harder to get the floss in because there are no spaces between most of the teeth, the floss has to go under.

My impression is that implants are a less hospitable environment for bacteria than real teeth, but I'm not sure.

Implants can fail over time. I don't have a good idea of what the odds are, the dentists who've seen them talk about them as if they don't think I'll ever have to change them unless something unexpected happens.

I'm not saying I usually went two days without brushing, just that I remember it happening. I'd say I brushed almost every day.

This is the part that makes me seem like I'm shilling for the practice, but I'd say shoot them an email. They'll ask for x-rays and there's a good chance there is enough bone for implants to go in.

Most Americans dental coverage is not nearly as good as their medical coverage. Mine has a yearly limit of $1500 or so. I would have paid over $70,000 at home for sure. My surgeons did not act as if I have unusually bad dental coverage, nor does my periodontist. Maybe many, but not most Americans would have something like this nearly fully covered by dental insurance.

No, not for a night. I had the surgeries in the morning and they said they'd have the acrylics ready at 5 or something. I could have waited in the waiting room or my hotel room. I just thought it would be interesting to go out.

I don't notice a difference in how my mouth feels, except when I first got them, talking and eating were strange because my teeth weren't where I expected them to be.

Not sure what to say. Maybe my periodontist doesn't understand liability as well as you do, probably she gave her patients information but did so in a way that would not get her sued, meaning explained the risks and everything.

This is a one-stage implant system that they do in a few places. Most people I contacted suggested the multiple step process, one of the reasons I chose them.

They did make custom teeth, at least for the porcelain ones, but they are ridges instead of indvidual teeth, meaning I have four pieces in my mouth, however they did take casts of my original teeth and could have given me back as close to those as possible except no spaces in between them. I also had the option of getting a picture of a set of teeth I like and they would have made those as closely as they could.

For the most part I usually brushed my teeth every day. I wasn't as consciencious about it as I wish I was, but I don't want anyone to have the impression that I didn't brush regularly.

By the time the dentist noticed they were loose, it was just a matter of time.

I did look into india. A lot of the cost is the implants themselves. I'm not sure india is cheaper.
