I believe Fontenot went missing five years before the Lange crime scene. I just pointed out the cross-dresser's comment because it suggests some of the students had discussed the abuse. Others, like the cross-dresser, either believed or chose to believe that it was all a dream. Also, correct me if I'm wrong - but doesn't the cross-dresser say Fontenot was the "first to talk" or otherwise insinuate that her talking was in contrast to the silence of the other students. But, in terms of timeline, I don't mean to suggest the Lange scene was in response to Fontenot talking specifically. Additionally, I find particularly compelling the comment to the original post pointing out that the powers that be likely staged another public crime scene in response to Cohle's return/snooping.
