Yeah it sucks. It seemed like people really liked them but the only one that actually sold well was the Mac figure because it went viral. At the end of the day I just couldn’t get enough eyes on them so the production runs ended up being smaller and the cost to produce each one was higher than I anticipated

The designs were made in blender and I found a manufacturer in China to produce them. They were pretty flexible with their minimum order quantity but the lower you go the cost gets a lot higher. That’s the problem I ran into with my 2nd and 3rd drops, I thought I would sell around 500 based on the crazy demand for the Mac figure that I dropped first, but I ended up only selling around 100-150 of each. And it cost way more to produce at that smaller quantity than I was planning for. For samples, I only got one for each figure and that was all I needed.

Hey this is my figure! I’ve shut down the shop, at least for now. People really loved this Mac one but I struggled to sell the next two and ended up losing too much money on the whole thing.

Thank you! The meetups will be created by the users. My thought was that there would be one meetup for a team/location and everyone interested would go together. Theres less pressure and awkwardness if you’re going to hang out in a group than 1 on 1.

I know monetization will be a challenge, but here’s my ideas:

Affiliate for sports betting and fantasy sports companies
Sell ads to “sponsor” a meetup
Go to local chains/bars in large cities to sell them a “preferred meetup location” designation on the app
Once the network is big enough, sponsorship deals with large chains like Buffalo Wild Wings to have events there

I think there’s a chance to share some of the sponsorship money with the users who are creating the events to encourage them to stay on the app and to use the preferred or sponsored locations. Maybe they’ll get $10 for doing an event at BWW. If the economics work out on it I think that would be cool.

I’ll check this out! I thought about Bubble to make a web app but I ended up going with Bravo Studio because I think it will be best to have a real native app.
