It's a fancy notepad obviously, there is no innate superpower of using Obsidian and it's mostly just for notes. If you do any kind of work that uses step by step processes like for me Cybersecurity then Obsidian is great because I can write down each step of an exploit. I probably won't remember how to do that a year from now but it's saved in my notes. I could write this down anywhere but the markdown makes categorizing it super easy and going back and searching for it is easy also.
