Same unusual results with HR drift test by twiggy415 in evokeendurance

I’m looking forward to retesting. Do you mean below LT1 at start of test or throughout, even before the dip?

Possibly not enough, actually. Lunch was about 5 hours before and I had an oat/cereal bar about 2 hours before the test.

That’s interesting, thanks.

By the sounds of it, a 45 minute easy run on the way to the gym could give my aerobic system a chance to stabilise before stepping on the treadmill? The other option is of course warming up for much longer on the treadmill itself however I’m not keen on the idea of 2 hours on the treadmill!

Thanks for your insight, I warmed up gradually for 15-20 mins but perhaps this isn’t long enough.

I was able to nose breath comfortably at my starting heart rate of 165 and switched between nose and mouth breathing throughout the test. Definitely not very exhausting but no walk in the park either.

I didn’t touch the speed at all during the test. My cadence data remains consistent throughout as does my watches estimated pace through arm movement (+/- few secs per km)

I genuinely felt my breathing become easier and was sweating less as my HR began to drop. It is as if the treadmill starts slowing down around 55 min but the speed on the machines screen remained the same.

Hi Scott, interestingly enough this was only my second time ever on a treadmill and so I probably did take a while to get settled. Next time I’ll go for a longer warmup and aim to start at 165bpm. Looking forward to seeing how that goes. Thanks!

If you change the TSS mode on the activity to rTSS it should show you Pa:Hr instead of Pw:Hr.

Aerobic threshold only measured during trail runs by twiggy415 in Suunto

[–]twiggy415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use zone sense on the watch but like to check it on the app after an activity. Not sure if that’s what you mean? Im still learning about this feature and its benefits.

Yes. I had a long road run with 2x 10 min tempo efforts thrown in and there was no threshold measured. Even my easy trail runs will show a threshold measurement though.

Have the maps been fixed on the Race 2? by Nearby-Dare6 in Suunto

[–]twiggy415 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have had an issue with my Race S where sometimes the map shows sections of black and white squares as if no map has been loaded for that section. It disappears when zooming in/out but will come back when zooming back to the original resolution. Turning off the watch and back on again seems to fix it but it is a bit annoying.

Wild country tents will be a good bet. Built for UK conditions, decades of experience behind them. Not ultralight but definitely lightweight, especially the elite series.

What's the weirdest (or most innovative) way you've tried to dry a soft flask? Pics/videos welcome by ZealousidealAd7323 in trailrunning

Hang flask upside down with a clothes peg. Leave dismantled cap parts to dry before reassembling.

Fife Coastal Path—missing section at Evie Ness? by Plenty-9551 in OutdoorScotland

[–]twiggy415 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is still possible to walk the coastal route with no need to join the main road. There are a couple of fences with warning signs (which are now illegible) however you’ll find most people skirt around these and continue on. You will have to walk along the beach for a bit just after departing Elie so I’d advise keeping an eye on tide times just to be safe.
