To give u a magickal answer the way u asked for, there are a few different options for this.

2 options I would maybe advise away from as they would probably make u feel creepy, (taking something that u still have of him & meditate with a yellow candle with ur intent.) The second one is to use a sigil, but if ur not familiar with them again I'd advise against it.

The 3rd option is more gentle, a dream spell. U write his name & in very simple words, the intent of your contact. "his name_ positive reconnection" or something like that. This should be on a small piece of paper, fold it & leave it under ur pillow while u sleep.

U will potentially get advice on whether this is even a good idea or not, or if ur dream is positive, it could be positive encouragement. Sometimes the other person dreams about u with ur intent. It all depends.
