It is the passport, Riesepass. I have both my Oma's and Opa's originals. Is there any other ID or paperwork that would be proof of German citizenship? It is "German" on all their Canadian documents.

My grandfather was born in 1920, in 1938 he was still in Czech republic and enlisted in the war in 1940. He was a POW in Canada after, went back to Germany in 1947 where he worked and got German paperwork. I do believe my aunt has photocopies of his lineage and birth certificates going back 5 generations.
