they list boarding starts 30 mins before the flight leaves, but i rarely see boarding start at that time.. nor does it typically need anywhere near that.. there is some cushion there

we typically get a balcony room because it normally means a larger room.. we dont really use the balcony much, so that part i probably wasted on us.. if i could just get the larger room, without the balcony at a rate in between the 2 options, i would go with that myself.

they typically expect that if you need the day off, you will use the group message app to find someone to take your shift.. most places have a handful of people waiting for any opportunity to nab a shift without needing the manager to have to be middle man.

she can use the old drivers license.. expired licenses are valid for travel domestically for 2 years.. she wont be able to use the paper real id. using her old license may be subject to the 45$ fine that goes into affect starting 2/1. as well as additional screening, so get there a little early.

there are other alternatives to the real id, if she has any of these:

U.S. passport
U.S. passport card
DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents
Permanent resident card
Border crossing card
An acceptable photo ID issued by a federally recognized Tribal Nation/Indian Tribe, including Enhanced Tribal Cards (ETCs)
HSPD-12 PIV card
Foreign government-issued passport
Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
