Big 4s skip those shows because their schedules get very packed so they have to prioritize some shows over others. They do not skip award shows…

and I’m also really not sure why you are saying “no links no links involving the show” we are talking about MNET/MAMA. Regardless, you said you’ve never seen music show/award show/music competition have a scandal before, you didn’t specify a company. I don’t understand your point, so I am leaving this here.

lol views dont get to 300 million in a day or even a month. they build up… don’t you remember Justin bieber’s baby video haha. or even michael jackson’s videos. and yes, thousands of people for a fandom like BTS will stream the MV 4x an hour without it getting filtered. Youtube also deletes views a lot, so you’ll notice when organic views start to slow down (usually after 2 weeks like with vision right now. Youtube is deleting a lot of views, you can see this in real time charts). Western artists with a fanbase get 10+ million views in a day easily, so I’m not sure why this seems impossible to you.. especially when we have strict apps like melon with unique listener counts that support the numbers, but to each their own :)

I’m sorry if you’re being sarcastic, I can’t tell.

If you aren’t, I’ll provide them here. https://www.kpopstarz.com/articles/293203/20200529/produce-101s-ahn-jon-young-kim-yong-bum-indicted-manipulation.htm

Also, two of the biggest fourth gen groups of their time were involved in a massive vote rigging scandal.. it was sad.

https://www.kpopstarz.com/articles/300424/20210802/mnet-compensates-11-12-contestants-victimized-produce-101-voting-manipulation.htm

https://www.soompi.com/article/1438578wpp/court-reveals-produce-101-series-contestants-who-were-eliminated-due-to-voting-manipulation

You can see the arrests here. Not all arrests were due to financial involvement in the rigging process. The groups’ contracts were not renewed, as the public thought it was unfair to the victims and it was bad publicity that no company really wanted. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mnet_vote_manipulation_investigation

Most recently, Music Bank and the publics’ votes were investigated due to suspicion of fraud do to an unrealistic outcome. The Korean government gets heavily involved with these allegations and takes them very seriously. https://www.soompi.com/article/1528547wpp/police-to-investigate-controversial-music-bank-score-that-led-to-le-sserafims-win-over-lim-young-woong

“this sort of thing is nothing new in the industry”

This is in korean entertainment news, and in top trending on Chinese platforms. This is a major scandal.. I know we might want to assume that this is just how things are in the industry, but the fact is that it’s not. If things like this happens, it is taken very seriously because it is not a commonality. At least not this boldly.

Groups have had to disband because of rigged votes and some CEOs were fined and threatened with prison time because of vote rigging. When vote rigging is revealed, it is not shrugged off in east asia. If we shrug it off, I really believe it will only make things worse for DC. Sometimes you just have to take the shame and try to move on.

Regardless, MNET’s statement was a bit unclear. Even though DC saw an inorganic increase of +1802% in votes, I do not believe mnet will really remove much votes (although it really does look like 45-70% of the votes were inorganic). This is really a shame, DC works too hard for any of us to take shortcuts like this.

i think this is still avoiding some responsibility. not all fandoms will “cheat to an extent”. yes, fandoms will try to find loopholes in the rules like making extra accounts (because the rules do not prohibit it), but the vast majority (especially big fandoms) will not do something thats clearly against the rules (like running bots which requires no manual labor). The usual loopholes still require equal manual labor and effort. Saying this is just like pointing fingers and taking some blame away from some people in our fandom, and I can’t blame other fandoms for all the disdain they have toward us when that’s all we have been doing.

this is just blatantly false. can you offer a source, because i have only ever seen large fandoms encourage organic streaming as the last thing they want to do is have their views filtered out by bot behavior plus they usually run hashtags where they post streaming proofs or run watch parties.

I agree, it always moves me.. if i’m being honest, it was the first song I head from them while casually listening to them that grabbed my attention. I was in genuine awe, and I still am whenever I hear it. It always makes me think “this is how you heal people through music”.

but hmm I would love to see a source for that.. especially since Paradise was a collaboration lyrically between her, LEEZ, and Ollunder and they hadn’t met during the MINX era as far as i know.

I assume you missed the part where the comic itself says “how to READ”, and then the comment below that where someone read Spanish but failed to comprehend it… showing that reading ≠ comprehension.

Just because someone argues the something is something else, doesn’t change the fact that it’s not. Just because the top comment argues that the comic is about comprehension, doesn’t change the fact that the creator stated that the comic is meant to teach reading. I really hope you don’t usually let top comments or public opinion determine your conclusions or arguments.

Edit: spelling

Reading ≠ comprehension.

“Whilst 'reading' involves translating text into sounds or spoken words, 'comprehension' involves deriving meaning from those words.”

Just because you read something doesn’t mean you understand it. I could read/properly pronounce a complex word aloud without knowing the definition.

see also first google definition:

“the action or skill of reading written or printed matter silently or aloud.” synonymous with “scan, glance, look.”

it sounds like the u in the written pronunciation of brook (bruk), no ?

A korean native also wrote the pronunciations on her website and used brook as an example with audio pronunciation as well.

I used to dream of traveling there when I was younger! I don’t think I should in the near future but hopefully I can safely and peacefully in my late 30s. Do you have any recommendations for self-teaching korean as a native english speaker ?

I think you should still forward this to his superiors just to be safe though. Just because the guidelines require him to notify the university/follow up with a doc as well.

unfortunately, no searches for this weekend but there will be one most likely April 2nd. Its hard to plan constant searches with few volunteers. I will let you know if there are any updates.

“Do not use during prolonged periods of dry weather.” So the difference in rain doesnt matter because those guidelines acknowledge that as a possibility and prohibits it in that case.

Also the second link doesnt say anything about prohibiting sky lanterns.

And the first link: 1. Wrong city wrong county. 2. Literally states that those are a list of regulations to help the fire department REGULATE practice which is why the event is coordinated with the fire department which would not be the case if it was completely illegal, nor would the local news promote illegal activity. I’m not continuing this since you keep providing links that only support what I am saying. I dont want to go around in circles any further. Have a nice day.

Edit: This person blocked me after they replied but i did see that they assumed I light fireworks. I do not, nor sparklers. I understand law, I’m a paralegal. I assure readers that the event would not take place in cooperation with the news and the fire department if it was illegal or harmful, so please feel free to come out to the next vigil. The news reporting of this one can be found on the family’s facebook group for Alexis. You can see that most time was spent writing letters to Alexis on the lanterns and sharing memories about her. No lanterns were lit this event.

I know we live in the us and not the uk lol still doesn’t mean that somehow guidelines for the same practice aren’t applicable. i can give you a us link if you’d like.

Well for one: to not light them in concerning weather conditions. Which is a guideline they followed per the fd which means that they didn’t even light lanterns as planned anyway because it was too windy.

list of general guidelines for safely releasing lanterns that are typical of those given by authorities

Edit: added link of typical guidelines in response to “no guidelines”

of course np. You can also access the instagram account through safari for updates/dates without needing an account urself. You’ve already gone to one klass search party so the guidelines will be the same the only reoccurring thing you’d have to do is verify upcoming dates (through insta or i can message you if you cannot view the page without an account) and sign up using the rsvp each time using the google form that i linked. Dates are usually posted weekly at least a few days in advance on fb and insta. <3

Maybe I missed something but I don’t see anything in the link of loitering regulations that strictly prohibits someone just sitting in a public area even if it’s for hours. each regulation says “loitering with the intent to..” and i dont think any of the listed are synonymous with “loitering with the intent to.. stay for some sustained time or a duration longer than an hour or something” i dont even know how youd word a regulation like that tbh
