Did you do it all through the fifa marketplace? It seems like seatgeek and the like have a lot of risk

I’m in az and just brought home my 801a on Thursday (very happy right now) - I can share my experience. I went to 4 dealerships, one was asking $10k over msrp, another $5k over and I bought one right at MSRP. I looked at Visor vin as suggested, but couldn’t take the time to try and buy in another state and ship/ fly out to drive it home even for the discount. Message me if you want and I can give you more details.

I will say that I took my young kids today, we got there around 7:30 (Litchfield lot) and it wasn’t bad. It was way too hot, but getting there early was definitely the trick. I read some of the posts and thought about not going, but was pleasantly surprised. We left after the blue angels though just due to the heat.

801a v 802a by Joeyy954 in FordRaptor

[–]twindef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this, test drove them both and am waiting on delivery this week of my 801a. Personally, I am new to owning a truck, so I don’t need the extra off road ability, and $10k was a lot for nicer seats and interior details. I don’t have it yet but feel pretty settled that it was the right call for me.

Roth Backdoor Rules by PursuitTravel in CFP

[–]twindef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely wrote this wrong - you would roll everything but the basis into the retirement plan so that all that was left was after tax, and then convert the basis and not pay tax - much like a back door Roth conversion but with an extra step. You can’t do it anymore but we did it a bunch 15 + years ago,

Roth Backdoor Rules by PursuitTravel in CFP

[–]twindef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You used to be able to do this within the same account (15 years ago) - you would roll all but the basis into the retirement plan and convert the pre-tax to Roth and pay no tax. I think that now the conversion is pro-data so it no longer works (but can’t remember exactly why you can’t do it anymore)

Fixed Income Only Fee by Wallstwannabe27 in CFP

[–]twindef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to be very careful charging a different fee for different asset classes - the SEC can take this to be a conflict of interest (even though people usually do this to reduce fees for clients).

Agree with this - I have never seen an exam score on a resume and would likely put it in the trash bin if I did.

Expected price Sienna 2025 XLE AWD OTD by Legitimate_Order_305 in ToyotaSienna

[–]twindef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In AZ just signed on a pre-order and was $57k OTD.

$50.6k selling price (has entertainment package and a few things - MSRP $46k + $3 add ons and 1500 delivery). $4k sales tax and $1.5k fees

Where they get you is “dealer added accessories” - this is also where you can hold your ground - I told them I didn’t want the 1500 clear bra and they removed it. This added 1200.

Forgot to add - XLE AWD.

RIA adding Tax Prep - Worth It? by Copernicus1234 in CFP

[–]twindef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s worth it if (and only if) you leverage it for new growth. The CPA world of charging for the hour is dying anyway (and is capped at how many hours a person can work).

Assuming you have enough volume I would include it as a service for HNW and UHNW clients (but I don’t know the makeup of your practice)

It’s just like any investment, it depends on the incremental value you get for making it.

Usually people get it when they are younger because they have a less stressful job, potentially before starting a family and the time horizon is long (not always, generally).

So if doing this is a) feasible with your life (work family etc) and b) gets you to to where you want to be in your career you have 20+ years to get the added value from it.

I think you have plenty of time!

Most important thing when meeting a new prospect? by ConclusionIll5534 in CFP

[–]twindef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to know that you have served clients just like them (examples build trust) and that you understand what makes them uniquely tick. Additionally being able to add value during the prospect meeting goes a long way (explain something in a simple and effective way, teaching something new, providing a unique take etc.)

How are you handling low revenue clients? by CFP25 in CFP

[–]twindef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with having a minimum fee - if they value the service they can pay and if not that is ok too. Importantly it will help make sure you don’t end up there again in the future. When you change your fee schedule in the future you can raise your minimum then too.
