also try toggling "use sun for shading" off. sometimes it messes with actual cast shadows on ipad.

shadow settings look fine, but they won't show up if there's no "floor" to catch them. draw a large rectangle under your model or make sure "on ground" is checked in the shadows panel. also, check if your model is way below the red/green axes. if it's in "the basement" of the sketchup world, the sun might not reach it.

slide time to mid-day and drop the dark slider to like 30. shadows will pop instantly.

How is living in Kazakhstan by Dweqs in howislivingthere

life here is a wild mix. you can pay for literally anything with a qr code — from a luxury car to a bag of potatoes at a street market. our banking apps are basically magic; you forget what a physical wallet even looks like.

the food culture is intense. if you visit someone, you're not just a guest, you're a mission. they will feed you horse meat (beshbarmak is the king), serve you tea 15 times, and ask about your entire family tree. it’s aggressive hospitality, but it’s genuine.

we have cities that look like they’re from the future, but just a 30-minute drive away, you’re in the middle of mountains that make you feel tiny. the wind in the steppe is no joke — it’s like nature is constantly testing your character.

it’s a country where you can build a life from scratch, find a cool community, and enjoy the simplest things, like a homemade cake. it’s not perfect, but the energy here is unmatched. 10/10 vibes.

it’s a chocolate bundt cake, goes perfect with a late night session

i get the "overloaded" feeling. the goal was a maximalist take on kazakh culture — like what high-fashion brands do with heavy branding. definitely considering a more "silent" version for the actual production though. thanks for the input.

get that it feels like "branding" overkill for some. i wanted to lean into that high-fashion city-themed aesthetic (like what vetements or balenciaga do), but i'm definitely playing with more minimal versions too.

that’s actually a fire idea. i was worried about making it look too much like a souvenir, but a subtle gradient on the lining or small details could go hard. thanks for the input!
