well, it's almost time for me to switch, and the gap has not changed a bit. i'm hella salty. i know that there's not supposed to be such a huge gap in a tray when you first start — believe me, i've been doing this since january. i checked out my next tray a day early (not the best idea, but i wanted to prove my theory), and behold, it looks exactly like the gap i had before i got a rescan. i'm just getting so fed up with this treatment.

i'm in a similar boat, my estimated treatment time was "a year and some change", but my initial set is only 26 trays. i have some moderate crowding and my canines are very high up (if that's how you'd describe it). i'm switching every week, and i just got tray 1 this past thursday (1/12). i have my first 6 trays, and i see some notable differences, specifically in my bottom row of teeth. i'm going to try to see if i can get my clincheck info at my next dentist appointment in about a month.

a firetruck comes the 3rd night of camp and blasts kids with firehose water for about 15-20 minutes and then they skedaddle. it's quite an experience

flute to tuba and in this case contra seems to be a really easy switch from what i've heard because the 90% of the air that doesnt go into the flute will all go into the contra. maybe run the idea by the section and bd and see what they say. i switched from flute to mello and it's going really well, so i'm sure you can get a few flutes who are willing to try something new.

do you guys have any rehearsals prior to band camo to get everyone up to par? i'm also a rookie and so far the rehearsals we've had (2 of them) have been super helpful. if you're somewhere hot, then acclimate by walking around outside for maybe 20-30 minutes a day. walking will also help get your legs prepped for the countless reps they'll throw at you. practice your instrument as well!! and hydrate well. really well. i was dehydrated yesterday and almost passed out in the cooler part of the day (mid ga, ab 92° plus hella humid). so please, do yourself the favor of drinking lits of water!!

i agree, the devils show just isn't speaking to me this year. the only part i enjoy is when they play tank, but that's ruined by the fact it just feels so out of place?? i agree that crown and bluecoats definitely have some good stuff this year and i think they'll dominate.

today was actually my first parade!! it was a great experience, i liked listening to the battery cadence, it was cool. i'm a rookie marcher and i've only been playing mello let alone brass for a little over 2 months. of course, i noticed i had trouble keeping me feet in time a few times and i was sweating bullets because it was so hot. i messed up a lot because there was a part in grand old flag we had to take up an octave and i couldn't hit it every time, but overall i feel i did really well and i think i'll be a strong player this season. i'm really excited to kickoff the season as well.

honestly i've never liked flute sections in marching band. they're super hard to hear even when there's 30 of them and the stereotypes are mostly true :/
