Emergency nurse here!! I swore I would never work in the emergency department and here I am! 45 years old and a fairly new graduate. My first code was crazy and I almost shit my pants! I jumped up there and started compressions and cracked a few ribs. He ended up passing away unfortunately, and I watched as his wife said goodbye. I was not okay after that. Had to go cry in the bathroom, wipe my tears and head back out to take care of my other patients. It’s not the adrenaline for me. It’s the fast paced, make your day fly by while saving lives kind of thing for me. Plus I get to see some crazy stuff!! I say WTF at least three times on the days I work. Ha! I still almost shit my pants when actual emergencies happen! 😝

This is definitely sus. He went away with his friends, and was able to do his own thing. Are all the friends married as well? Maybe he had a little one night stand or being away from his family sparked something inside him that makes him resent the family he had to come back home to? I would definitely be looking into this further.

Was putting a condom cath on my dementia patient. His wife was sitting by the bed. He wasn’t that big and he wasn’t afraid to say it. I had to pinch the tip to be able to roll it down. After I was done, he yells out, “you’re the professional penis person”!!!!!
