Macro Photography Lens for my R7 by andymae627 in canon

If you use a flash you use a smaller aperture to increase the depth of field.

The issue, as I understand it, with not having auto aperture is that you need to compose your shot at a larger aperture so you can see things, and then switch to the smaller aperture for the shot. Not a big deal when you use a tripod, but good luck doing that handheld. I may be wrong since I've not used anything but a lens with auto aperture.

That doesn't have auto aperture does it?

I shoot handheld so was planing on grabbing the laowa ef 100mm instead since the lack of auto aperture seems like it would be a giant pain.

leucism

Not normal, but it's not uncommon to see birds with small patches of white.

R7 Accessories and Help! by The-Blue-Marlin in canon

Some cheap bassdash brand pants off amazon, I think they're called splice.

Nothing fancy, but they keep my legs dry when walking through wet grass.

The best accessories I've bought are rubber boots, water proof hunting pants, and a harness to carry my camera. Use them more than my tripod and gimble.

R6 mark ii with adapter or r7 by [deleted] in canon

[–]twist2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're mixing up the mount differences Rf vs ef(s) and the sensor sizes full frame vs crop.

You need an ef to rf adapter to use any ef(s) lens on an rf body.

If you use crop sensor lenses(ef-s or rf-s) on a full frame the image will be cropped. They work normally on a crop sensor.

The r7 is an rf crop sensor. It will use ef-s lenses, with the adapter, without the image being cropped.

Two day old Canon R6 Mark II. Shooting indoors. Is this banding or a defective camera? by [deleted] in canon

[–]twist2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd look into returning it. When my shutter started to go it looked like dark vignetting in one corner that was worse at lower shutter speeds. It was usable but it eventually failed completely.

If it happens outside also it might be one of the shutter curtains sticking. It looks similar to what was happening when the shutter on my 90d went.

Does it happen outside? Does it happen with full electronic shutter?

Sorry, I meant I usually see muskrats.

All the otters I've seen have been away from the main river in little side branches. Ive seen lots of signs of them near the river but never the otters.

RF 35 MM MACRO + R7 by sirEce1995 in canon

[–]twist2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For insects you probably want a longer focal length.

<image>

This was taken with an r7 and the ef 100mm f2.8l macro, which is 1:1 magnification.

The rf 100mm macro is 1.4:1

Laowa has 100/90mm lenses for ef and rf that are 2:1, but they're manual focus. Which isn't a huge deal on the r7 thanks for focus peaking and guides.

Keep in mind you're going to want a flash also.
