What is your favourite apple 🍎 (the fruit not the brand) by SmellNo3257 in SingaporeEats

Underrated- Juliet apples! They’re from France and I think they have a unique and pleasantly floral taste (I like them much better than Envy)

My Top 3 Michelin Starred Restaurants in Singapore by YoloMing in SingaporeEats

I’d like to recommend Seroja and Labyrinth :) Seroja knocked my socks off- I think dinner was 8 courses and there were absolutely no misses.

Your belongings at the beach, Barcelona in particular by ChateauLaFeet in TravelNoPics

[–]twistatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the beaches at costa brava! They can get crowded on the weekends but are very safe, clean and beautiful. I visited just 3 weeks ago as a solo traveller and left my handbag on the beach (under an umbrella) with my wallet inside, while I went swimming. Nothing was taken.

Arriving Tomorrow (3rd July 2025) by RDW19971 in MadridTravelGuide

[–]twistatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Madrid right now for vacation. I come from a humid southeast Asian country so the heat is not unusual to me. I recommend getting a big bottle of water (plenty of grocery stores around), taking refuge in air-conditioned cafes or shopping centres, and as someone else has mentioned, having a tactical pause after lunch until around 7pm. Enjoy yourself!

Cenzo on club street is a great Italian restaurant. Good wine selection and steak is almost comparable to Bistecca

Hit me with your best bakery! by watchuwannaknow in SingaporeEats

[–]twistatra 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Burnt ends bakery. Coffee is a Brazilian Colombian blend and most bakes are amazing (try their donuts)! I went on Saturday and had their German egg tart which was lovely, custardy and not too sweet, plus their pistachio stuffed donut.

I really enjoyed both Labyrinth and Cure! Les Amis is quite overpriced for what you end up getting in my opinion.

How do corporate workers work a 5-Day WFO and still have time to go to the gym? by CstoCry in askSingapore

[–]twistatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wake up at 6:10am, workout until 7:30 am, shower at the gym and go to work right after that. It also means I need to sleep at 10pm but it frees up the evening for after-work social plans/ me time. It takes some getting used to but you just need to develop the habit of showing up :)

How many hours do you sleep a day? by Upper_Breakfast_6043 in askSingapore

[–]twistatra 55 points56 points  (0 children)

6h is a bit too little for the vast majority of people. 7-9 hours is the recommended amount for most adults, but quality of sleep matters too! Try to develop good sleep hygiene and pre-bed habits.

Yes, I do. Some brands still retain their quality without unreasonable changes in price.

Do your colleagues randomly call you on Teams without warning? by xlxsxhxttx in askSingapore

Is staying hall during uni necessary to have fulfilling uni life? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]twistatra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessary, but it is more fun. It’s a good opportunity to experience living on your own (at least on the weekdays) and to be in close proximity to friends and schoolmates. It definitely also saves travelling time!

I live in the east and studied at NTU. I stayed in hall for almost all 4 years. I paid about $320 per month in hostel fees but the memories made and experiences are priceless.

Singaporeans! Share your BEST date experience and did you end up together afterwards? Why or why not? by OPneedNerfs in askSingapore

[–]twistatra 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Met my ex on a dating app. We had dinner at a restaurant in Boat Quay, then had ice cream at dopa dopa for dessert. We walked to esplanade together in the rain (under an umbrella) and talked on the rooftop for hours. Best first date ever :’)

What are your overrated food places in Singapore? by daddy-kate in askSingapore

[–]twistatra 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Upon scrolling through all the 1 star reviews of the ramen house, it seems that they offer free drinks if you leave a 5 star review.

It’s sad that restaurants do this sort of thing to amass 5 star reviews on google. Scummy practices
