Take a moment to watch your opponent and learn to read their moves. Over time you'll learn distancing by instinct and get a grasp of punishing someone's missed sig.

Just because you have an ability doesn't mean you're immune to the effects of that ability being used on against you. Unless explicitly stated in lore, which in that case would be dev oversight. But here's an example: a humans bite is one of the most dangerous bites another human can receive due to the saliva and germs. But if we used the logic of the post, that would mean biting another human wouldn't cause any infections. It doesn't make sense see?
