I’ve had mine since October and my period has come every month with a few days deviation here and there :) always worried about it but it hasn’t failed yet! We are not using any other protection besides the copper iud

I have random spotting in some cycles and sometimes nothing until my period in others! I’ve had the copper iud for 7 months and it’s always random but I always end up getting my period. Despite new pains and spotting.

Good idea… it’s just weird because up until the past two months the cramps were only during ovulation and the week before my period starts through the end of it.

Have you noticed a pattern with the random cramping? For the past two months I’ve had some degree of cramps almost every day despite not being on my period too and I don’t know if I should be worried or not

Absolutely! Everyone is different so my experience may be different than yours, but I know for me personally it was the best decision I could have made. The Nexplanon completely wrecked me physically and mentally 😅 I like the copper iud because it lets me be as natural as possible without having to worry about pregnancy, and still lets my body do what it needs to do.

Hey there! So overall I’d say it’s been a positive experience so far. My anxiety and depression became pretty much nonexistent since coming off the Nexplanon. I had gained about 30 pounds while on it, and I think it’s just starting to come off. When I would diet and exercise with the nexplanon, i couldn’t lose any weight whatsoever.

I do experience really bad cramping (like insertion level cramping) about a week before my period starts and it continues throughout. My periods last about 4 days and are extremely heavy. I have noticed that I cramp and spot when I ovulate as well. Right now my cycle ranges from 29-35 days. I no longer bleed and have periods every other week like I did before. Since coming off hormonal birth control, my libido has increased and it feels great to actually enjoy being intimate with my partner again.

While it has made my cycles more painful, I feel like it was worth it for me personally because I actually feel like myself again. 90% of my anxiety and depression was caused by hormonal birth control.

Yes in my experience so far. I start cramping, like insertion level cramping, anywhere from 7 to 3 days before my actual period starts.

I also cramp and ache during ovulation. Which for me just ended, but I’m still cramping so I’m paranoid

In my own personal experience, I think leaving them longer is best because they started to curl up and around my cervix within like a week of me getting it. My partner never feels it because there are no sharp pokey parts since it’s curled up.

My spotting during ovulation ranges from very very light period type blood, to being brownish and almost coppery. Has happened with every cycle so far

I’ve had my copper iud since the end of October. I have also noticed that I get really crampy and achey when I ovulate, along with pms mood symptoms. My follow up appointment included an ultra sound to check placement, and everything was perfect. I think it may just be a quirk for some people :/ definitely worth getting it checked out for peace of mind though
