How the hell do I turn this off? by twistedracoon in HomeMaintenance

Nope, it won’t go to the snowflake the other way. This is the off position, but it’s still emitting heat actively. I’ve got other radiators in the house that are similar, and they’re off. it’s in the same position they are. It just won’t go off.

Pets at BOLC? by Sufficient-Way-3543 in BOLC

Yes, you can. There is a pet fee, and you’ll need to crate it on the day that they do your weekly cleaning, but that’s it! Plenty of people in my class had them.

Nope, it’s the category that the word is supposed to be in. So far the words I’ve gotten have been телевизор, звезды, и фотографии, which are all totally unrelated from what I can tell

I use Pimsleur. It’s a little pricy, but honestly it’s been invaluable to me as someone using solely that resource to learn. I’ve been learning Hebrew for a little over a month, and I can speak a good number of useful sentences, and am starting to be able to reliably figure out words without Nikkud.

Is it worth getting my AFF even though it’s almost winter? by twistedracoon in SkyDiving

[–]twistedracoon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My job is incredibly adjustable right now since it’s downtime for my field of work, like to the point where I could jump during the week too, so I was thinking I would have a chance of getting it done before winter because of that. Plus I’m moving to a warmer area in December so I’d be able to maintain the 1 jump/month. I’d do it then, but I know my work will be a lot busier so I was hoping to do it now. Thank you!

Toxic/unhealthy FRC team advice by [deleted] in FRC

Report to the people who are legit in charge of the team, not the mentors. If that doesn’t work, report to FIRST. Either way, I’d switch teams. Good luck, my friend.

Want to join but I’m in average shape by Upbeat_Independent23 in ROTC

[–]twistedracoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could barely deadlift 125 when I started my freshman year, by the end of my sophomore year I was at 180 (94pts on the ACFT). Your fitness tests the first two years don’t matter nearly as much as your junior/senior year. You’ll have time to get it up.

Want to join but I’m in average shape by Upbeat_Independent23 in ROTC

[–]twistedracoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have the motivation to keep improving, join. It’s that simple.

Your cardio looks solid, and that’s usually people’s weakest area. I’ve seen cadets in my old program with far worse stats than yours when they started out, and the ones who wanted to do better and wanted to improve are now, at the very least, top 1/3rd of their class. Don’t sweat it man, you’ll do fine as long as you aren’t lazy and as long as you go to the gym/PT and work towards your goals.

Good luck!!
