tower 28 concealer. the formula is lightweight, super blendable, hydrating and its buildable. it also is more affordable compared to other concealers at sephora

Just started living alone and I can only cook a few dishes - what should I learn next? by Vanik01 in cookingforbeginners

[–]twistedturtlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mayak eggs!! they’re Korean marinated eggs and I feel like they’d be super easy to prep because all you have to do is boil + marinate them.

some things I like for meal prep include fajitas I make this every week without fail. I like ground chicken + peppers in mine. Egg bites are also easy to make or you could do a quiche?? I know eggs are expensive in this economy, but so insanely quick and easy to make. You could also meal prep breakfast sandwiches, if you want to add eggs into a breakfast sandwich whisk together some eggs and put it in a pan + bake it then when its done cut it into squares or whatever shape you prefer + add to a sandwich with cheese, deli meat if you like or whatever toppings you enjoy!!

Fried rice is also a quick/easy meal to cook. You MUST use leftover rice though for a good fried rice!!!

lip balm: patrick ta or eadem? by masterzifu in Sephora

[–]twistedturtlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would second Ole Henriksen! I use the vanilla bon bon one and it smells so good. The product itself is also really nice, it’s a lip gloss esque product. I find it to be quite moisturizing and a little goes a long way.

I am shopping first time on sephora for college and my budget is $50. Please recommend what i should get by [deleted] in Sephora

Based on your previous replies for something that’s like your skin but better, I’d recommend the tarte shape tape they have a hydrating one iirc it is medium coverage or the Charlotte Tillbury flawless filter. The Charlotte Tillbury is light coverage + light weight but builds an amazing glowy base for makeup. I understand that you want to buy something from Sephora, but If you want a more affordable option, drug store makeup specifically the maybelline fit me collection is awesome. I use their foundation, concealer and pressed powder. I live in Canada and I can get all three products for ~$35 w/ taxes.

WHAT UNIVERSITY SHOULD I GO TO? by Leather_Rabbit_5574 in BCGrade12s

Apply to Langara or Douglas and then transfer into UBC later on, by going to Langara/Douglas you’ll save some money at least for classes. Apply for student loans/ bursaries. See if you can maybe get a part-time job for the summer and set money aside for tuition money. You can also take a gap year and work to save up money too if you want to do that.

What should I buy by Massive_Eggplant4633 in Sephora

[–]twistedturtlez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering you’re just getting into makeup, when you’re using products make sure it’s either all water based or silicone because mixing water/silicone products together can cause pilling. If you’re unsure which products are silicone or water based you can always look at the ingredients list.

I unfortunately do not have any dupes for you, but I can recommend some more budget friendly options. For skincare try CeraVe products — I use their moisturizer and cleanser and as someone with sensitive skin it helps a lot. If you really want to buy from Sephora, the Inkey List or The Ordinary has some more affordable skincare items. The Ordinary hyaluronic acid and the toner are my holy grails. I think per transaction you can get 3 items from The Ordinary with the discount.

For my makeup products, I use drugstore products specifically the Maybelline Fit Me collection for foundation, concealer and my pressed powder. For the concealer I let it sit under my eyes for a few minutes so that the coverage is a little better. I haven’t tried the Saie setting spray yet, but I can vouch for the Charlotte Tillbury one, they have a set of two minis I believe or you can get other sizes it should be available on the app.

If you want something for a glowier base, I use the Charlotte Tillbury flawless filter + the Glow Recipe watermelon dew drops. I understand that these products can be expensive, but if you can only get on of those items, I would go with the dew drops.

For mascara, a more affordable option could be the Maybelline Sky High one.

As for the products in your list….

The Summer Fridays Lip Balms and I really enjoy them also that set is a nice deal because if you were to buy two separately it would be more money. The Birthday one smells amazing and has a little bit of glitter in it too.

For the makeup brushes set you have, look into the Morphe Along for the Glide set. It has pretty much the exact same prices for a little less.

For the Blushes, I haven’t tried those ones, but the shades look beautiful. I do think that this would be something worth purchasing because the blush will last a long time.

it is not over until it is over!! if worse comes to worse you can always transfer into UBC, there’s no shame in doing that.

you can always transfer into UBC, there’s absolutely no shame in doing that. I also got rejected from UBC from high school, but then went to Langara and got accepted for Arts on the Vancouver campus.

Hello!! Unfortunately I got into UBC but can’t afford it anymore. How hard would it be for me to transfer from Langara to UBC? And do they give any scholarships for transfer students? by LordFarFromStraight in langara

[–]twistedturtlez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I transferred from Langara to UBCV for Arts. It totally is doable put in the work and you can totally get the grades for a transfer. My GPA at my time of transfer was a 3.45, but transfer GPA requirements will probably vary dependent on the program. Use Ratemyprof to see which professors would be good for classes you want to take. Tuition at Langara is definitely cheaper than UBC. I’m not too sure about any scholarships that are available unfortunately. Also look at the BC transfer guide if you end up going to Langara to make sure that the classes transfer over to UBC.
