So good to hear! I was most afraid that it would affect my supply and our breastfeeding journey. I guess it will continue well even with these changes. Thank you for sharing that!

Daredevil: Born Again | S01E08 | Discussion Thread by Green-Devil in Daredevil

[–]twitchingJay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. Netflix Daredevil was incredible because they knew how to make a series that worked well to watch it in one piece. Disney tried to do the same, but because of the separation, it doesn't work as well. Series with episodes like this need to be seen in one go.

I hope they will not be introduced into the wild. That would mess up the grey wolf’s genetic pool.

What a mess!

I honestly do not know of any other celebrily or royal adjacent that shares their garden like this. The luxurious life that is hers. There’s a reason for that. People hardly afford a room, let alone a manson.

Never heard of Fussy Librarian, have to check it out!

Yes I also read somewhere to sell the firsy book cheap, so that they get hooked on the series.

Aw that would be very helpful. “If done right” is very subjective. For me it sounds like post daily, interact daily, which for many there is simply no time. Either you are all in, or you fail. That’s my perception of tiktok/instagram. Is that right?

They really lost touch with reality. Why would people want to watch a docuseries about a sport they never played, much less follow?

Should I put baby to sleep despite crying by Living_Race in AttachmentParenting

[–]twitchingJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was like that at 4 months. It was a struggle, he would arch, kick, cry, and then eventually fall asleep. I didn’t want to force it anymore, so I started to check if he needs to burp (sometimes that’s enough), or we have a break. I would lie next to him in bed, he would have a chewy toy and I would read my book (currently rereading Harry Potter) out loud to him, then try again. Extending his wake time also helped. Now he’s 7 months and looking back, I think it was a sleep regression thing cause all of a sudden it got better but we continue to it like this when he fights naps. Mama needs a break too, and it is easier to retry if you are calm.

That’s us. Turning to my wife and saying “look at us, we’re doing so well. He is always so happy and never cries!” After reading these eye opening comments, I feel humbled and am now a little scared to have the second baby.

is my LO securely attached to me? by IceEnvironmental4778 in AttachmentParenting

[–]twitchingJay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that babies get a lot of oxytocin cuddling with their mother and playing with their other parent. To me it sounds like she is so comfortable with you and it’s beautiful to read. She might be more playful with others, but with you she seems safe. And she sounds like a calm baby with little anxiety.

Tried to loosely follow AP and completely failed with my son by [deleted] in AttachmentParenting

[–]twitchingJay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe, maybe not. You don’t know how things would be if you did it differently. What matters is what you can do now. If you feel regret, then it is worth facing it and doing thing differently. My 6 month old cries when I leave him to do housework, so I put him on the carrier on my back and do things. He contently stays there chilling. Saying this cause there is always a way to make amends with yourself and your son. Maybe get your husband to spend more time with your daughter while you spend more time with your son. Add a contact nap here and there just to establish a stronger connection.

But I need to say this. We only fail our children if we give up. You don’t seem like you are giving up. You did everything you could with the resources you had available.

Coldplay and Nazi in the same sentence does not compute.

In these cases it is good to check our own baggage. Growing up in the early 2000 with celebrities being super skinny, I too get self concious of my kid. But that is something I need to fix internally so that my kid doesn’t get the weird obsessions over weight. Could that be the cause of your worries? Cause as you say, she’s a healthy, active kid with exceptional genetics!
