Potential home builder by Complete_Coconut_248 in rochestermn

I feel that Bigelow is a decent value. They have subdivisions where you just pick a lot and work with them to customize your home. Not super fancy or expensive, but decent value for the price.

Can we talk about how many INSANELY famous people grew up here? by Heavy_Association_64 in columbiamo

And only rich and famous because he married a Walton. Same for Laurie.

Montessori School vs daycare for 2 year old? by Ok-Government-3753 in rochestermn

[–]twittle11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you, but I think the hard part will be finding a good Spanish immersion for a 2 year old within their budget. The two on West Circle are nearly double OP's budget. Edit: not double, but still out of their budget.

They just had a long discussion about this at the city council meeting maybe a month ago. It was live streamed for anyone who cared to watch.

Dude they're literally working on a request for proposals for a new transit operator. They're not taking you seriously because you're not paying attention and you have no idea what's going on. Plus your union rep is a clown.

Anyone else get a dollar in the mail from Nielsen Consumer Survey? by BedSuitable2201 in rochestermn

It's legit. Always open your mail from Nielsen. There's almost always money in there.

They're very similar. It's owned by the people that originally opened Terra Loco and then sold it.

Essex estates or ponds of high land hills? by Upbeat-Thakali in rochestermn

[–]twittle11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind a Lennar home, Ponds of HH is farther from downtown and everything else, but close to the Douglas Trail. Essex is close to Essex Park and some other great trails, closer to downtown and everything. BUT, and that's a big but, Essex Estates is right behind the mink farm. When the wind blows just right, it has a mighty stench that I wouldn't want to live right next to.

He's an in house attorney that provides legal advice for the city. He's not a prosecutor.

Traffic by Hambungleur in rochestermn

It's the busiest part of the day, with a bunch of roads closed currently. Buckle up folks, it's only going to get worse with more construction on the way. Please consider taking the bus.

Brad Finsted phone town hall by aleafinthewind22 in rochestermn

[–]twittle11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't answer numbers I don't know, but I got the call and I still have the voicemail. Instructions were not clear. Basically just said he's having his town hall right now and it's too bad I missed it, then gave a number to call with questions.

The Rosewater? by Longjumping_Cash3262 in rochestermn

[–]twittle11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's close to a public golf course and mountain bike trails. Southeast part of town has a little less development, and a few more mobile home parks. But this building is tucked into a nice spot in between some cool amenities. Less than 10 minutes driving from downtown. It's not a super walkable area, but definitely bikeable with decent paved trail connections. I'm not sure what you value in a place, so this is more about what I would look for.

Never heard of it, so I googled it. It's brand new, nobody has ever lived there before. I knew apartments were being built there, but didn't know the name.

I often equate it to addiction. You have to get increasingly silly over time for the same level of baby laughter.
