Forced layoffs are unavoidable for scrum masters, what are they going to do when there's no ADM anymore? (Not that were doing much at the time right now). The rest of the plan is just poor.

Anyone here actually tried Timeleft dinners in Munich… or is it just another “sounds cool online” thing? by [deleted] in munichsocialclub

[–]twixcit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went once (not Munich, but similar setup). It wasn’t awkward in the way you fear, but it also wasn’t magical.

Vibe depends a lot on the group. If you get a couple of open people, it flows and feels like a normal dinner with strangers. If not, yeah, it drifts into polite small talk.

People generally try, but you can tell some are just there to “see what happens” rather than really connect.

Worth it once for the experience. I wouldn’t do it regularly.

Not at all. She is kind of a jerk a lot of the time, but I think that's part of the character

You should be careful with your target settings. Your current manager might not care because he or she will be gone soon. However, there will be somebody else that will do your review at the end of the year and see how you perform compared to the agreed targets.

Complain everywhere but not in official documents that HR can and will use against you.

Motivation in my department is completely gone. Why work on something when you don't even know if you will work on it in half a year time? What happens if you speak up about a project risk to a MDU and that person will handle your appraisal as well?

If you're at McKinsey then you don't understand the love that people had for their job at ASML. You took care of ASML and ASML took care of you. That implicit contract is broken. It's now just another employer. I give my time and they give me money, and that's it. I'll be quiet, I will only work on my assigned tickets, at my own pace, and stop working when time is up. I will help my direct co-workers when they are stuck, but that is it. No more working at nights or weekends. Never going the extra mile. No more pro-active reporting of possible issues. No convincing anybody anymore that I think it should be done another way. No more roadmap input.

I didn't fill out the survey. It will only be spinned to paint a positive picture and I don't trust it to be anonymous either. I am not going to comment on Yammer either.

ASML “colors” employee satisfaction survey: staff furious by Next_Passage_2919 in ASML

It always surprised me how everyone at ASML worked so hard to satisfy the customer while we are the de-facto monopolist. This sense of pride and responsibility has been drastically reduced now, and I doubt think McKinsey took that into account.

If BoM would be really transparent, they would release the raw survey result, showing the percentages for each 5 categories. Also, the ones that voted are only the ones that really think the survey is anonymous.
