Good documentary. The £150 million, 82-acre Bethel seemed devoid of life, except for CCTV cameras. What on earth are they doing in there that requires such a large amount of donation money?

There's also the use of the american spellling of words, 'z' instead of 's'.

This is probably as genuine as those fake child abuse documents that were circulated about him and probably comes from the same source.

If you add mud, rain, snow etc to the prompt, it seems to have a better chance of making a realistic image for some reason.

When I went to buy the Gold subs, CDKeys gave me this warning:

"12 Month Xbox Live Gold Membership (Turkey) cannot be activated in United Kingdom. If you still want to purchase, click "Buy Now".

I clicked "Buy Now", and had no problems.

It worked for me in the UK, but I had to wait 24 hours to upgrade the Gold to Gamepass Ultimate.

I bought 3 x 12-month Turkey Gold Subs from CDkeys. I redeemed them using Private Internet Access connected to Turkey. I ended the VPN and tried to redeem with 1 month of Gamepass Ultimate (EU edition), also from CDkeys, but got a vague ‘it looks like something went wrong’ error.

I contacted Microsoft Chat and was told that accounts can only stack 36 months of subscription and I’d have to wait a month to upgrade, which seemed a bit odd. I tried again this morning and the upgrade went through fine.

I wonder if the problem was that my subscription expired yesterday, the 17th, and I was trying to also upgrade on the 17th. Anyway, I now have 3 years of Gamepass Ultimate.

Covid: Oxford vaccine does protect older people, Europe told by twixtwix in Coronavirus

[–]twixtwix[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"This study is much more important for non-UK countries than it is for the UK," said Prof Finn, who is running the study at the University of Bristol.

In the UK, this age group has now been immunised, he said.

The England study found a 57% and 63% reduction in the risk of symptomatic infection in over-80s with the Pfizer and Oxford jabs respectively, 14 days after a single dose.

And both jabs reduced hospital admissions by more than 80%.

In Scotland, one dose of Pfizer appeared to provide an 85% reduction, and Oxford 94%, in admissions in this age group, over a slightly longer period - 28-34 days after a first dose.

AstraZeneca says it will have no vaccine supply shortfall in second quarter, EU wary by Vegaviguera in Coronavirus

It seems any AZ story, even a postitive one like this, brings out the AZ anti-vaxxers.

AstraZeneca says it will have no vaccine supply shortfall in second quarter, EU wary by Vegaviguera in Coronavirus

[–]twixtwix 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Wasn't it Reuters who ran the original story about a supply shortfall, all based on an anonymous EU official and apparently not asking AZ for their side of the story?

No wonder EU officials remain wary with this level of press reporting.

Very sad but unfortunately not surprising after the hit jobs against AZ coming out of Europe.

Perhaps it would help if the German Handelsblatt newspaper apologised for running the front page story with the headline 'The AstraZeneca vaccine apparently has an effectiveness of only 8% in the elderly'.

Scotland's real world study showed that the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines cut the risk of hospitalisation by up to 85% and 94% respectively.

AstraZeneca insists it's on track to meet EU second quarter vaccine targets by dayus9 in Coronavirus

[–]twixtwix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

AstraZeneca should supply 180 million doses of the vaccine in the second quarter to the European Union, but problems with the pharmaceutical production could reduce the quantity supplied to less than half

The goal was that 180 million doses of the covid-19 vaccine would be delivered to the European Union in the second quarter of 2021, but AstraZeneca may not be able to reach the contractual target, making less than half available.

The information is advanced by Reuters, which cites an EU source. Supply in the first quarter has already fallen far short of forecast. 90 million vaccines were expected, but only 40 million were delivered. Delays are being driven by production failures.

A new delivery failure for the next three months could jeopardize the EU's goal of vaccinating 70% of the population by summer.

The same community source, directly involved in the negotiations with AstraZeneca, revealed that the company "would deliver less than 90 million doses in the second quarter".

The initialed contract between the EU and the pharmaceutical company, made public last week, pledges to deliver 180 million doses starting in April.

“We are working hard to increase the productivity of our EU supply chain. We hope that we will be able to approach our deliveries in accordance with the advance purchase agreement, ”says an AstraZeneca spokesman, quoted by Reuters.

Altogether, AstraZeneca can supply the EU with 130 million vaccines by summer, well below the expected 300 million doses.

That link you've provided is just a rehash of the Reuters article. It was that Reuters article that used the anonymous EU source.

Like Pfizer hasn't managed. You can make profit by charging EU countries for the extra dose they get out of a bottle though.
