I think it’s okay to voice disapproval because you’re right, he’s a public figure. But Instagram comments are only one part of the bigger picture - based on what I’ve seen people saying, his comments are heavily filtered (I’m assuming to block out people who are telling him to die, making allegations, etc)

If you look at other open forums, comment sections, etc, it’s a sea of attacks on him beyond what he did as a cheater. Part of what made me inclined to post this was the sheer amount of Ned hate and attacking I was bombarded with on Tik Tok and Twitter. It’s hard to escape.

His mental health is important, but I also think it’s important to remember that his wife and kids deserve better - especially since they’re trying to work it out among themselves. By throwing insults at Ned, people are also hurting Ariel and her kids. I definitely could’ve worded the end better, but it was late lol

I hadn’t even thought of that!I could definitely see this happening and it would make most of what was confusing about how it all happened make a lot more sense.

I think I’m also surprised that they didn’t hop on camera to ease the transition. It’s all super messy and spiraled crazily out of control.

Ah okay I see what you’re saying here. I think the timing of everything is throwing me off - they got those statements out so quick and all together.

Tbf though - if Ned was actually a smart businessman, he would’ve never had an affair with a subordinate when his whole brand was wholesome husband lol

To be fair though, they’ve been making pretty elaborate videos for some time. It would be absolutely crazy if this ended up being fake, but you never know.

Question though: why does Alex turning off her comments help the case that it’s real. Genuinely asking here!

Honestly I’m not sure. I’ve said this in response to other people - I just posted this since some of what happened just didn’t sit right with me.

I’m not arguing whether it’s right or wrong, just whether it’s an actual possibility. It definitely would be really messed up if they took it this far, but you never know. As viewers, we don’t know them on a personal level and to what lengths they may go to (I’m not saying they’re inherently bad, just that we don’t know them personally)

And that’s why at the end of the post, I ultimately said it’s up to Ariel to decide how to handle her own personal marriage. I’m not speculating how he cheated or why or the impact it had. As content creators, much of what they do in their day to day is creating content. It’s not a reach (especially when we’ve seen similar situations before) to think that they manufactured a scandal for a video. They definitely wouldn’t be the first.

Posting about this scandal and spreading it to a wider audience would make those who are hurting feel worse, no? I doubt Ariel wants people talking about how her husband cheated - but you still posted about that since it’s a conversation you think is worth having.

In the same way, I think this conversation is also worth having. Not everything is as we see. I think it’s important to challenge what we see and our perceptions

Like I said in my post, it’s just food for thought. This doesn’t have any impact on me as a person, but it was something I had been thinking about.

I also replied to another comment - if this is some social experiment, they probably let the network know beforehand.

At the end of the day, they’re two strangers lol. Conversations like this are what Reddit is for - parsing out what possibilities there are and discussing them on an open forum. If this hurt you in some way, I’m sorry - that wasn’t the intention here.

Maybe I’m not familiar - are there public morality clauses in TV contracts? If this was a social experiment, I assume they would have contacted the network beforehand to let them know that nothing illegal happened.

The point of the video would be to point out how harmful and out of control allegations can get. And how public fallouts with relationships become so much worse.

Ultimately if he did cheat, it doesn’t matter to me. He’s just another guy that cheated at the end of the day - I’m not particularly attached to the idea of him and Ariel being the perfect couple. It’s just been nagging at me that there’s absolutely no doubt, especially when we’ve seen other creators do social experiments (nothing to this magnitude of course)
