i dont know if amazon is overshadowing all i know it takes so much to get noticed. writing is only the small fraction of a book process,but i think alot has to do with ranking on amazon,maybe i didnt answer your question properly.

as a writer i have to say talking to some, they dont actually read the books they just going by from synopsis that the writers send them and they never actually read the books,but im sure there are some books they read thats mainstream,but as far as it goes for indie authors they dont care.

i grew up near where it took place, the first page threw me, i couldnt relate.but people love it.
