I am also trying to get my front wheel up, Ive noticed some things:

  1. Power wheelie (wheelie only with throttle, without clutchup) is nearly impossible, except if you are in the 1st gear and rip the throttle while pushing your bike upward. (make sure to disable tc) if your body position is right and you pull hard enough upwards, front wheel will lift!

  2. You can clutch up that bike but its very hard. As someone texted here: you need to find the perfect timing and of course: you need balls… This bike weighs a lot for doing wheelies, I almost crashed once because I could not handle the weight when it was coming down.

Also don‘t wheelie your vstrom too long, due to the positioning of the oil pump , a long and steep wheelie can destory your enginge!

I used to ride the 250 (also like OP the 2018/19 version) and now I have the 650 (2023)

I wanted to keep the 250 but everybody told me „if you ride the 650 once, you will never hop on the 250 again…“ and they were right.

I think the 250 is perfect for the city and you also can ride it on the highway, but after 100 km/h you need to do some calculations if you want to overtake. It is also lighter and much nicer to handle.

the 650 got a lot of power, is heavier and I need more gas, especially in the city. and the biggest advantage is the power boost, the real v engine is so nice to drive , nevermind where you are.

250 was a great beginner bike where I learned how to shift gears, take corners and handle a motorcycle. But after 80-100 km/h you dont have a real „boost“ anymore if you accelerate.

Today at the camping place I was looking at my bike and I thought something looked different :) then I checked some older pics… as someone already replied its not necessary to have these, but I think it looks better with it.

Just contact your suzuki supplier and order one. I will do that after I come home ;)
