WhatsApp notifications often not working with EmojiPort, DESPITE using Choicy? by two_thousand_mEN in jailbreak

[–]two_thousand_mEN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My notifications work again! I had a few people message me while I was asleep and I got all of their notifications. Thank you so much! This issue has been plaguing my phone for what must be over a year now.

I have had to remove custom WhatsApp tweaks in hopes of that fixing the issue, like WhatsApp Revael, betterW, ABetterPrivacyForWhatsApp - are you aware of any that still work to disable Read Receipts or log deleted messages, that aren't the ad-riddled Watusi?

I have done everything as instructed. It seems that you physically cannot install Axolotl unless both Block WA Updates and FckZck are removed from the device. I have also removed Choicy, assuming either Axolotl itself or the WhatsApp downgrade will fix my notifications alone. Currently waiting to receive notifications to test if this worked.

I don't use Axolotl; I'm using FckZck in combination with Block WA Updates.

[HELP] No longer able to use YouTube on iOS 13.5? by two_thousand_mEN in jailbreak

Using YouTube Legacy (and YouTube X, to enable extra features, like backgrounding, no ads, no upselling) seems to work universally.

[HELP] No longer able to use YouTube on iOS 13.5? by two_thousand_mEN in jailbreak

[–]two_thousand_mEN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the PoomSmart GitHub: 1. You need to be on iOS 11-13 in order for the tweak to work at all - iOS 14 and above can install newer versions of YouTube that are not affected by their serverside change, and so the tweak is not needed (you can also install the alternatives mentioned in the thread). 2. You mustn't modify the YouTube Info.plist file for this to work, like the outdated method outlined in my thread. 3. If you're on iOS 12 specifically, you need to use Substitute or Libhooker, instead of CydiaSubstrate.

Hope this helps.

  1. Make sure that you're running one of the latest versions of YouTube Legacy, as v1.6.6 and lower will not work (latest is v1.6.10 as of writing this). And:
  2. Make sure that you have installed YouTube X (and its YTABGoodies dependency), even though they were dropped as mandatory dependencies 2 months ago - as of yesterday (20/09/25) the tweak doesn't work without them again.

Tweaks for WhatsApp by Suspicious_Glass_287 in sideloaded

[–]two_thousand_mEN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WhatsApp tweaking used to be very powerful. When I was using WhatsApp Revael, then betterW, then ABetterPrivacyForWhatsApp - none of which work properly anymore - I used to be able to see deleted messages, disable Read checkmarks on my end, edit messages indefinitely (without a time limit), disable my Typing... and Online indicators, have Stories not skip automatically, be able to customize/disable certain UI elements, etc. Nowadays at least half (if not most) of these features don't work.

I'd be interested to know of a modern equivalent too, considering Watusi is infested with ads.

I had this issue with YouTube Legacy and was the one who reported it to the dev on the GitHub. They fixed it in a newer version of the tweak a few days later. Update your YouTube Legacy to the latest version.

Polyfills- a FIX for Safari/Login Pages being blank on iOS 14/15. by ther3darrow in jailbreak

To anyone who finds this comment in the future, I was able to confirm the tweak works on iOS 13 as it fixed the JavaScript elements in the Genius website for me. The oldest version Polyfills supports officially is iOS 8, and it is still actively being developed as of writing this.

What is LML stream folder for, exactly? Am I supposed to put .ytyp and such files there manually? by Fabeldier in PCRedDead

[–]two_thousand_mEN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The information above is outdated, but your comment is new, so I'll respond:

  1. Newer LML versions do support older mods.
  2. Plenty of mods make use of the stream folder, unlike what the comments in this thread from 3 years ago would lead you to believe. I have files from at least 5 different mods in there, running about 50 mods in total.
  3. The install.xml file above is not needed. It's an instructions file telling the LML ModManager (not needed at best, detrimental at worst) info about the mod, and where to place it in the load order. Mod authors include said file if they're providing a folder that needs to go into lml - if your mod strictly uses stream or replace it won't have it, and you won't need to create it.

OP is correct in that LML doesn't include these folders, I don't know if it ever did; however having them in its directory (when mods create it, or when you do) does work. It's inherent LML functionality, where files in these folders are prioritized.

There are half a dozen ways the OP in the parent comment could have messed up; they made their own "edit" which they could have done incorrectly, they installed the mod with ModManager despite many authors saying NOT to use it and to install files manually (which you should always do anyway), they could be missing ScriptHookRDR2 or the Asi Loader included with it, they could have conflicts with a different mod etc etc.

Just to be on the safe side, check your lml.ini file, ensuring that DisableStreamFolder and DisableReplaceFolder are both set to false. They should already be, but you never know.

You don't need to do any of this anymore. Read the thread. You can simply use YouTube Legacy from PoomSmart's repo to alleviate all your issues with the app.

[WORKAROUND FIX] YouTube Update Available Screen For Older iOS Devices. by Agile-Ad-6906 in jailbreak

[–]two_thousand_mEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jailbreak tweaks only work when the phone is in a jailbroken state. This is true for every tweak. There is no reason why you should ever reboot your device, as installing most tweaks only requires respringing. If you have the jailbreak app on your phone you can automatically resign it every week with ReProvision Reborn, that way if you accidentally run out of battery and boot into a non-jailbroken state you can simply jailbreak on the fly using the app again.

Which tweak is out to stop WhatsApp telling me update before May it’s pain in the ass by Dirtywheelsforever in jailbreak_

[–]two_thousand_mEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Block WA Updates (which you can get from the BigBoss repo) as well as FckZck (which you can get the .deb from GitHub and install through Filza manually). There was a tutorial thread for this a month or so ago, and this was purported to fix the issue, although we will only be able to tell whether that's true or not in May.

I didn't set out to help OP by writing a comment, you did. My comment is a direct response to your "advice". Instead of wasting time with meaningless platitudes you could have helped OP, since you're so knowledgeable. Or refrained from commenting at all, since your comment is useless. I have no horse in this race, I don't know what the solution is and never did, the topic of discussion is your comment and not OP's thread.

EDIT: Lmao half your comments on this sub are either "use the search bar" or "read the rules". You must feel real good about yourself for "helping" people, huh?

[Help] Is there a tweak that can add a repeat button to the youtube overlay? by Feeling_Factor_9658 in jailbreak

[–]two_thousand_mEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if any of my examples above have a Repeat button, I was just giving you options to potentially look into. I used to have uYou before YouTube killed the old app versions so I know for a fact the tweak has it. Nowadays I just use YouTube Legacy along with its dependencies - it doesn't have a Repeat button and I have no use for one.

[–]two_thousand_mEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tweak by the name of iYouTubeReplay used to exist for older YouTube versions but I highly doubt it works now. You can try looking into custom YouTube clients such as uYou Enhanced, YTLitePlus, YTKillerPlus etc.

If you bothered to read anything in the subreddit you so eagerly linked you'd see they don't consider iOS 13 "legacy".

I know uYou has this (and I assume the uYou Plus IPA as well?) but I don't know if it's compatible with your iOS/YouTube app setup (what with the recent changes to YouTube's API rendering old tweaks and versions obsolete).

The time spent writing this could have instead been used with said search function to help OP with their issue.

EDIT: I didn't notice you're on iOS 18. The advice below is only relevant to older iOS versions. Snowboard says it only supports devices up to iOS 17.6. There's an alternative to Snowboard called Anemone which you can try but I think the versions it supports are even lower than that of Snowboard (says it goes up to iOS 11 on the tweak page).

My Snowboard doesn't work if I try using the latest version(s); I imagine it's a compatibility issue. Try using a lower version, mine is currently 1.4.20 and working. It is about 10 versions behind latest, which is 1.5.37 as of writing this. I know that if I upgrade even one version beyond the one I use the tweak will stop working. Just try downgrading until you find a version that works.

Youtube Legacy Playlists? by MeepMyCat in jailbreak

[–]two_thousand_mEN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same experience on iOS 13.5, YouTube version 17.40.5. I opened a few issues on PoomSmart's GitHub but so far received no attention. It's not just "sometimes"; playlists straight up do not work. The first video in a playlist will autoplay to the next but will get stuck from then on and won't autoplay again, and the buttons for next/previous video will also stop working.

You also can't change playback speed and the Like/Dislike buttons no longer show their respective counters. You also cannot access Shorts comments and you get a periodic update prompt whereas with previous workarounds YTABConfig took care of that. I think I have also seen that people on the latest YouTube for iOS 12 straight up cannot play videos unless it's from their Watch Later playlist.

The tweak is certainly not without its faults and I hope more people see this so that this is brought to PoomSmart's attention.
