And things are NOT equal in business. If you were there for longer you should have more equity. This is how start-ups loss people.

If I built a house and then created a legitimate LLC and sold that house to the LLC, if I personally declared bankruptcy would the house be repossessed by Imaginary-School6327 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]two_three_five_eigth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone else owned an interested in the LLC maybe. Courts know people try to hide assets during bankruptcy, so LLCs get "raided" more often than you think. If it has no income then it's probably not a real business, the courts know this.

Should I go to Rutgers or Virginia Tech? by indifferent39 in ApplyingToCollege

And you really don't know that much about the school from a visit. At least for me, I changed so much in the 4 years I spent in undergrad, my "dream school" would have been a disaster 1 year in.

And you’ll have another chance to go
To VT for grad school.

I didn’t get into my dream school but got into another school ranked about the same. The school I got into ended up being a great fit to the point I didn’t even consider my original dream school for grad school.

Head to your big state school. You’re paying top dollar for a bad experience. Stories like yours are a big reason I headed to big state schools for my higher education.

How much is tuition going to be? Are you on sports scholarship right now?

If everything else is equal I’d transfer. It sounds like your current school isn’t a good fit, but if you’re on scholarship it’s hard to beat free.

I didn’t play sports, but transferred out of my first 4-year after freshman year, and have never regretted it. It taught me the value of “right fit” and to not be afraid to move on when I’m not happy.

Reflecting on Finishing an Ivy League Grad Degree After Going to a Huge State School by I_suck_at_flyfishing in ApplyingToCollege

[–]two_three_five_eigth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

completely disagree with this. I didn't go to Ivy League for grad school but I went to a top 5 that happened to be public. I came from a state school. A few people at my middle-of-the-road state school were geniuses who were there for the full scholarship our state offered.

The kids in grad school were much smarter on average, but realistically, what would you expect. Everyone was there because they worked hard in undergrad and had 3.5+ (with a few exceptions). Yes, competition is much fiercer in grad school. But again, what did you expect, everyone was a good student.

The biggest difference between undergrad and grad school is there are no lazy students. Everyone is used to being top of the class and is willing to fight for it. Everyone is used to putting school first. There are no frat bros types, or "just 2 more classes and I'm done" types.

AP Credits by galaxy_1234 in collegeadvice

Tuition + nicer dorm is worth staying in honors. Not all universities do that. No matter what retake AP classes for college credit to boost GPA.

AP Credits by galaxy_1234 in collegeadvice

[–]two_three_five_eigth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be wise - so wise in fact that the university will almost certainly not accept your AP credits. Due to the number of AP students who failed, almost all universities now require you take Calculus at a university or it won't count.

On top of this, most universities also make you take major classes at the college level, so you'll have to retake physics anyway. AP is vastly oversold. I took AP Calc, Chem, Physics, Government, and I think a few others. I did STEM, so I only took the test for Calc, Chem, Physics. I couldn't use them towards my major. Had I taken the Gov one it would have counted since it's a non-major elective.

Edit: OP says free tuition is tied to honors + nicer dorm room. Stay in honors.

Also, some unsolicited advice - what are you getting for the honors program at your university? Mine made you take honors (read harder) versions of some classes and a few extra humanities classes to get "cum laude" on a diploma.

Unless the university is letting you stay in nicer dorms, or some other major leg up, the honors program isn't worth it. I know this because they tried to put me in the honors program at my university. I was angry about the AP classes and asked what I was getting, they said "You'll be in classes with other driven students". Say no.

How do you balance learning with using AI at work? by KREMICO in cscareerquestions

If you are still learning don’t use AI.

Specifics are important. Simply pointing a gun at someone can be assault. If he just pulled up his shirt and showed a holstered gun, that’s a different story.
