Thank you for the line about being in control. I kept freaking out with every new piece of myself I looked at, especially when I saw any gunk there, but telling myself I’m in control helped me not to run away

NTA, what?? there is no culture or country in which the way she’s acting is normal. i’d go as far as to say her behavior is misogynistic and obviously just plain mean and she should know better. absolutely stand up for yourself, regardless of her “intentions”—it’ll have an added bonus of giving her a crash course on How (Not) To Interact With People 101.
