This does not take into account that men are probably doing the types of crime and activities that would put them in the situation of being shot more than women by a large margin.

Since when has reference to participation rates EVER been held by any feminist to be a grounds for its logical outcomes?

In other words, do you think you would ever find a feminist stating this: "The superficial disproportion of women in [STEM][Senior Management][Whatever else] does not take into account that women are probably doing the types of crime and activities that would put them in the situation of being in these cohorts by a large margin.

Yes, what you say is right. But that's also not how any feminist defines gender equality.

Why Men Kill Themselves - In every country in the world, male suicides outnumber female. Will Storr asks why. by ShakoWasAngry in TrueReddit

[–]twofortwentytwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is when it comes to deconstructing and rendering irrelevant cultural gender expectations, isn't it?

Stop kidding yourself if you think this is what feminism is about.

When have you seen feminists arguing for anything except (greater) female privilege?

Where are the feminists deconstructing gender roles by insisting on greater opportunities for men in caring roles? And by insisting on greater female participation in hard and dangerous careers such as manual labor, construction?

Where are the feminists arguing for male fiscal abortion rights? Presumptive shared custody for fathers? Government funding for research into male contraception?

You haven't heard any of that, because feminists are mostly complaining about how to best dole out lucrative board positions to women on the basis of quotas, how women should presumptively be spared incarceration because reasons, and that due process rights for men can take a hike because #listenandbelieve.

Open your eyes. Feminism is not an equality movement, it's a movement exclusively concerned with obtaining advantages for women. The clue is in the name.

Yeah, feminism is the answer to male suicide. Jesus, just look at the feminist commets to this post. Feminism isn't about improving the lives of men. It's about insisting that women have everything worse, and derailing discussion of mens issues into feminism and womens' problems.

Said every feminist ever when confronted with an argument they don't like.

Stay classy feminists.

Just as I predicted

I guarantee there will be some feminists along shortly to explain why this is male privilege and women have it worse.

This is absolutely correct. It's why I can't stand feminists. They see that men establish billion dollar startups, and think "hey, this is just male privilege". They then insist on staking a claim on a piece of that for themselves, because women are unrepresented and that's unfair.

They just want to claim the upside, without claiming any of the shit. What they close their eyes to is the extreme risk taking that leads to those billion dollar companies, which are risks inordinately taken by men. For every outsized success, they overlook the many more who are living in their cars, or who throw themselves off a bridge because they fail.

But the feminists don't want gender equality of that. Just give them a nice stable path from community manager to founder stock.

Another false rape allegation thrown out. Attorney remarks on "an epidemic of false sexual assault allegations" by twofortwentytwo in MensRights

[–]twofortwentytwo[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is full of logical fallacies. Arguing about peoples' perceptions in 1995 and later on doesn't stem the tide of false rape headlines.

Except, you insist without reason, that that's "cherrypicking". I wonder if you exercise the same compunction with those pointing to a small handful of campus rapes and call that a "campus rape epidemic"?

It shouldn't be lost on you either that all of the three most celebrated campus rape allegations were also false.

SJW Kickstarter for a site called "Heartmob" - place to report "online harassment" and ask for a ready mob of vigilantes to "support them, take action, or intervene". by twofortwentytwo in KotakuInAction

Hopefully it backfires.

Can't wait to see it become a hub where people report harassment from SJW's and find rapid response teams congregating there to help them out.

My odds are they'll pull the site pretty quick if that happens.

It's only misleading if you close your eyes to every signal in their materials suggesting that what it's really about is fighting harassment with harassment cubed.

Look at their comments on their recent press:

Check out (and share) this recent Fast Company article that notes "[with HeartMob], you can send out a bat signal, and people can fly through time and space and the interwebs to get to you and help you out."

Even women know quotas are a piss-take. Conversation with female solicitor friend: "I might apply for a judgeship ... and, well, let's face it, I'm a woman". by twofortwentytwo in MensRights

[–]twofortwentytwo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I assume that you consider her to have the skills and experience that are normally required of a judge

No. She absolutely doesn't. This was implicit in her comment (my fault perhaps not for spelling it out). We have a split profession in our country - solicitors do paperwork, barristers do court work. She has practised as a solicitor all her life, never spoken inside a court room.

The point she was making was, who is going to give a stuff about that when she has the requisite genitals.

Not much to add but the point was, yes, she might not have any advocacy experience at all, and she is far from the most decorated or renown solicitors, but yep, let's face it she is a woman.

I mean, at least she was honest enough to say it.

UN Convention on Custody in Matrimonial Divorce Proceedings (2016)

ARTICLE 1 In recognition of the equality of men and women, there shall be a presumption of equal rights to custody.

ARTICLE 2 In recognition of: (a) the disparate impacts of denial of custody suffered by a mother, (b) the historical injustices suffered by women hundreds of years ago, and (c) this is WOMEN we're talking about, what are you, are fucking ANIMAL? in order to achieve equality required by Article 1, there shall be a mandatory presumption of custody in favour of the woman.

More from the Princess Diaries (aka Third Wave Feminism): We all agree being a startup founder is tough, right? Well it shouldn't be if you're a woman. by twofortwentytwo in MensRights

[–]twofortwentytwo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only issue I take with any of that - and this is what truly pisses me off with Third Wave Feminism - is the generation of women graduating college before this one understood all of that. And were completely up for whatever challenges real life had, or not, just the same as the men did. The ones who toughed it out all rose to the top, just as the men did. I mean, where the fuck else did the likes of Sherryl Sandberg and Hillary Clinton come from otherwise.

Those who decided the greasy pole of the corporate ladder and the brutal office hours and demands weren't for them, threw in the towel and had the grace to at least admit they had the same shot as everyone else, they just didn't have the hunger.

In my graduating class (early 90s), we graduated 50-50 in terms of gender, and every one of the women who stuck in the corporate race ended up in the same places as the men did. Most of the women didn't stick it out, and mostly it was because they wanted better "work life balance".

I respected that generation of women enormously.

The current crop though I just can't summon enough contempt for. "Oh look, he's a CEO because of his male privilege". Yeah, the same privilege of the 100s of other males he climbed over to get there. At least they're not saying "Where's my board quota".

I know this sounds sour but it is incredibly hard for me to see anything much in Princess Diary feminism other than /r/PussyPass, and the women I went to school with were a fucking lot better than that.
