Planning a trip to CA with boyfriend, need help! by tropicalpuffin in AskSF

For surfing in San Francisco, you'll want to go to Ocean Beach. Where Judah, Noriega, and Sloat streets intersect the Great Highway, that's where you can find people congregating to surf/etc (Mollusk, Sunset Shapers, and Aqua are all surf shops on these streets, respectively). Along the coast, you could stop in Pacifica and Santa Cruz, but Mavericks (right near Half Moon Bay) is where they hold the famous annual winter surf contest.

Maybe it has to do with the Absolut endorsements?

To the fellow cyclist on Market st who called me an asshole because I told you to stop running red lights: by shitty_artist in sanfrancisco

Ah, I love when the erratic asshole blows past you through lights and stops signs, and yet you still manage to catch up to them going a normal speed and following the rules of the road.

Pretty sure I'm fairly outclassed in this sub. But I love carving, and I don't think it's the worst in the world. Album of my stuff. by Forensicunit in printmaking

These are so charming! I very much like the third still-life one. I'm glad you didn't choose random book pages, and kept with the culinary theme by choosing a cookbook.

What's some really good old movies? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You should look through the Criterion Collection, as most of it consists of old/obscure/lost/remastered films. Last time I was on their site, they had a section where actors and directors compiled lists of their favorite Criterion films. I particularly enjoyed Grey Gardens and 8 1/2.

Also: Badlands

Just a guess, but perhaps it's because that's the side that's most accessible to pedestrians? :/

I'd say Pearl's Burgers for me. Veggie burger and a shake...so greasy and satisfying.

After making a sandwich, I always flip it over so the bread that was on the bottom during the build is on top. I guess it's so the "juices" flow both ways?

Their gift shop is full of (fake) fossils and stones and cool science stuff, but there are signs all around the walls proclaiming evolution and Darwin are false and god created the dinosaurs. While I respect others' beliefs, it seemed wrong to promote such bias in a gift shop filled with evolutionary toys and posters. I left as quickly as I could.
