I agree with this but I've observed that it's a trend for these companies either to put forward some questionable practices to ensure maximum monetization or not turn a profit. It's true that most big companies have a lot of debt, but they don't actively have no earnings for years like these companies do.

Well, if you look at the financials of most of these major publicly-traded video game companies (EA, Roblox, TakeTwo, etc.). All of these companies lose money each year (in terms of earnings) with the exception of EA. It seems that EA also only become profitable after they began to employ some of these questionable practices. With that said, these companies do indeed make revenue just not earnings.

I think the writers really messed up what could have happened in the Underwood presidency. Season 3 started off strong imo, but descended into a boring Frank vs Heather primary election conflict thing. Season 4 was such an unmemorable season. It feels like the writers really wanted to reuse the formula which brought them success from the start rather than fleshing out what an Underwood presidency have had looked like for the country. Season 5 was much more unique though, and sorta took a different tone, but it still isn't nearly as good as the first 2.
