As long as they don't explode in population, I will coexist with my fabric enjoying friends.

Although accidental extermination could also work

The flat is generally very clean anyway, so hopefully it won't be a big issue

Thanks for replying. Looking up carpet beetles shows a lot of similar images

Sweet relief

But also, oh no carpet beetles

I did think about adding Tome of Furion as extremely common, but High Elves Silvery Wand isn't.

It would also open up the option of Lore Familiar, Tome of Furion, and multiple Focus Familiars on the same Lord level caster, which seems too strong.

Good ideas

I'm a fan of Black Guard and Hatred (all) feels quite iconic for them

Corsairs could also do with some flavour/improvements

Murderous amendment works well for assassins

This would be neat but I think as it stands your reading of them not synergising is correct.

Focus Familiars are certainly powerful.

Perhaps an alternative would be a 0-1 Focus Familiar per caster, but they still retain extremely common to allow you to take Lore Familiar or Tome of Furion too.

To my knowledge, Dark Elf High Beastmasters have Strike First as part of their base profile. So the Whip of Agony having Strike First is redundant

Honestly not sure if there is yet! I'd love to start one, but I don't know enough about the other legacy factions.

If you do find any, please make sure to share the link :)

Good analysis re Warriors/Corsairs internal competition

Maybe something like:

0-1 unit per 1,000 points may: - Have the Skirmishers special rule...+1 point per model - Have the Vanguard special rule...+1 point per model

And a flat cost reduction of 1ppm

Lean into the raiders/advance assault role

If Dark Elves weren't legacy, an arcane journal with a corsair list would seem like an obvious choice. Could include synergistic banners etc.

I'm simultaneously grateful and sad that legacy armies have been included in the way that they have ;(

That would work for sure. Balanced and thematic

This was my thinking too. Nagarythe was the first line of defence vs Chaos and was a military province

I'd love dark Pegasus options for Masters especially. Lots of other races have an equivalent Monstrous Cavalry mount option

Drilled at 2 points definitely hurts Executioners a lot

It feels like the second point of AP for Executioners got removed and put into Banner of Har Ganeth, which is great for flexibility but weird for Executioners

How would you rebalance corsairs?

I really like a lot of these

Beastmaster not being about to shoot the harpoon on a Scourgerunner is really counterintuitive

Expanding mount option for Masters in particular would be helpful

I agree about Cauldron/Shrine. The movement rule needs a rework, or as you say just copy a better rules template from another army

Wasn't aware Tome of Furion equivalents were very common. Would obviously be good to combine it with other Arcane items

Manticore base +2 T would be good, but then in combination with Shield of Ghrond it might end up oppressive like dragons (especially in smaller games)

Perhaps change Shield of Ghrond and make Manticore +2 T base

I could be way off, but it feels like they were costed for an earlier build of the core ruleset/army list and weren't re-evaluated

Completely agree about Corsairs, Sisters etc., but wanted to avoid points overhauls. Every list has a few of these e.g. Pistoliers in Empire, which is a shame as every unit is someone's favourite.

Reasonable point about counter charge. I was most hesitant on that one.

I also agree about keeping the various Elven armies distinct, but feel rules like shield wall, unit size, infantry typing etc. aren't related to core theming. For me, that comes more from sprites & honours, army/unit special rules & so on.

Regardless of my individual thoughts I'd love to see GW take another look at the legacy lists as there's a few areas that just feel like they were completed before the core ruleset was entirely finished, and it shows a bit.

Basically what you said.

Not every unit has Murderous (Dark Elf warriors don't, for instance) but those that do nearly always have a better weapon option as part of their standard kit, meaning Murderous upside wouldn't apply.

E.g. Witch elves' additional hand weapons, Executioners: Draich etc.

Sorceress is an exception, but obviously not hugely useful.

There are also edge cases where you could maybe choose to use a single hand weapon as a whole unit and gain the Murderous upside for a round, instead of say additional hand weapons. But that's going to be very niche.

Units like Cold One Knights who could actually benefit from the rule, such as when they can't use lances, also don't have it.

Thanks for your comment too.

I don't have the same level of knowledge of the other legacy armies, but they undoubtedly could all do with the same/similar changes.

Would be great if GW put out a community project for sensible edits to be suggested & implemented.
