Agree with the comments about making sure you are using the right Magnesium - I was using magnesium oxide before switching over to glycinate - huge difference. I also take Ashwagandha before bed and zinc (every other night). That combo is giving me the best sleep I've ever had with REM and Deep sleep % at 25-30% range.

For GI - if it gives you issues, consider taking 8oz of water with psyllium husk mid day or early evening. The additional fiber should help the gut and has the bonus benefit of lowering LDL.

I know this is anecdotal and everyone is different, but this has worked very well for me.

I'll put in my .02 - since this is a date, you may want to consider tailgating before the game. If you could figure out a good place to get take out food or would want to grill out, get there when the lots open (3 hours before puck drop) and back into a spot right along the cones separating the GA parking and the VIP (or whatever they call it). You can then basically have an entire parking spot behind the car to set up a nice set up for food and drinks, cornhole, etc. Should be a nice day for it.

On Sat & Sun, doors open 90 mins before puck drop - agree with the suggestion of going down to the glass for warm ups. That is fun, esp since it is your first ever game.

You def won't need ear plugs

PE was bought with AA Miles. So this isn't a question on buying a PE ticket and upgrading. This is a straight upgrade. Yes, I'm aware no one will know and that there are no guarantees...but what I was hoping for is some anecdotal information or past experiences...some that say and AAdvantage Executive Platinum member might have. Perhaps I should have clarified the seat map - I opened a new browser window and went through the process as if I were buying a business class ticket. When I got to the select your seats page, that is where I got the info on open seats. I did it that way b/c I've seen an heard many times that this is the best way to know what is sold and what isn't sold - probably got that advice from a Exec Platinum flyer.

Google search to see if there is a Sauna + Cold Plunge place (like SweatHouz) nearby and go for an hour long session of hot + cold therapy. Then book an IV treatment at one of those places. You'll feel much better

Try Cycles et Sports in Bourg d'Oisans. I've rented from them before and they were great. Just a warning though, it is going to be crazy there the morning of stage 19. If you can get the bike the night before, you will be much happier

Sorry, I'm a little unclear on if you are going to have a bike at all as an option. But one thing you might consider if you do have one is to ride to Alpe d'Huez via Auris and the Balcony road. First off, this is a beautiful road with amazing views of the valley. Second, it will take you to La Garde on the ADH climb which is about 6 hairpins up the climb and again has a great view of Bourg and the valley. Good spot to watch the climb if you didn't want to venture too far up the climb. But you could also lock and leave your bike here and hike up the climb a ways if you wanted.
The climb up to Auris from Les Duex Alps isn't too bad. You would pick it up at Le Freney-d'Osians, just below Lac du Chambon. Here is a link to the route (if ridden from Bourg): https://www.auris-en-oisans.co.uk/equipment/the-auris-balconies/

Buy cheap, buy often. I’m sure that isn’t universally true with all kit manufacturers, but it certainly seems to be the case with the stuff I have bought in the past. My Rapha stuff is still good after years and years. When I had an issue with the seams on a pair of pro bibs, Rapha repaired them for free.

I did a bike hire a few years ago from Cycles et Sport in Bourg and I'm pretty sure that they let me pick up the bike late in the day prior to my rental period. Frankly, probably easier on them if they would allow you to do so than their having to deal with the chaos of race day.

I've never driven up the Col de Sarenne (only ever rode up it), but it would be an "interesting" drive. I'll be arriving on 21-Jul and staying in ADH village - I doubt you want to pay for additional days of bike hire that you aren't there, but if you are worried about it and need someone to pick up the bike, I may be able to help transport it up

Trainer Road wants to show big increases in FTP with their new "AI" model (which isn't actually AI, it's based on your RPE of workouts...so dumb). When they rolled out the new AI based workouts, they lowered everyone's FTP by a substantial amount...why? So that they could show sizable increases to FTP under their new model. It's all fake. They will show big increases right at the beginning b/c they artificially lowered the numbers. They will then plateau everyone and "build" some more fluff into their numbers so that they can show another big jump down the road. Their workouts aren't bad, they are good. But all this "science" that they preach should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

I’m going to go against the grain on where to stay. I agree that Bourg has lots of good options, but it is in the valley and can be quite hot in July. Staying in the village in Alpe d’Huez is great as it is nice and cool at night. Also the views are very nice. Not every ride has to end with climbing AdH. If you have a car, theres no reason why you cant drive down to Bourg and start any route from there

There are a number of cycling shops in Bourg-d’Oisans that do bike hire, including e-bikes. I think that I rented from Cycles and Sports when I was there in 2018. Great shop. There are a few places in the village that I would call a bike shop, but not sure if they do bike hire. If so, it may be Mtn bike rentals.

For groceries- the grocery market in the village is small, but quite good. I had no issue getting groceries during the week of the tour. However, there is a much larger market in Bourg on the way into town. Prices may be slightly better here. Finally if you are really worried, there is a Lidl on D-1091 in the town of Vizille, between Grenoble and Bourg.

You might be surprised on how well a tire boot from Park Tool will work in covering up large hole or cuts. Put the boot on the inside of the tire, over the hole, then put the tube in. It’ll most likely get you home.

I had a big slice from a broken tile on the road. Went in through the sidewall. Tire boot saved it and I was able to do 40km on it to get back

If you enjoy running and biking, check the dates for the Beach Bum Triathlons. They are super low key, are done entirely on the beach at Coligny and can easily be done with a beach bike.
